23 - Knocking Some Sense In Ayato

A/N: Guys, tomorrow, I will leave to my grandparents for 4 days, BUT, I might be able to borrow their computer and update my stories there :3 So we will see ^^

Laito's P.O.V

I walked in circles, trying to figure out to defeat our mother's spirit once again. I finally gave up and sighed, sitting down on the closest chair.

"For the first, I can't believe how Richter could survive the flames, I mean, he was wounded and the fire was meant to kill that bastard." I swore under my breath and stood up again. Steps came closer and Ayato came down to the living room, really emotionless.

"Hey, are you- Wait, what?!" My sudden reaction when I saw tears in his eyes, his eyes were red and puffy, like he have cried forever. I helped in to sit down on the couch while he was staring at his hands.

"I was a fool after all, if I haven't fallen in love in Amie for the first time, none of this would happen." He whispered and kept staring.  I exchanged some few looks with Kanato and went back to little brother.

"No no, none of this is your fault, so don't blame yourself for this, just think how relieved we will be when we have defeated our mother." I smiled and tried to cheer him, but didn't succeed. 

"We must give up, we don't have a chance against them." He gave that smile, wanted me to punch him on his face. I sighed frustrated and looked back at him, standing up.

"Where is my little brother who's always narcissistic, calling you ore-sama. Always calling Kanato pipsqueak, huh?!" I said annoyed and stared at him. He opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off.

"No, don't you even dare, brother! I want the old Ayato back! If we won over our mother once, we can do it twice, and this time is about double kill, two flies in a row." I said and stared in anger at him. He was loss after words and looked down onto the floor.

"Well, I kind of guess you are right then." He mumbled and kept staring on the ground. I fixed my hat and sighed.

"We need a new strategy, quick, what do we have and can someone fetch Reiji, please?" I pleaded and sat down beside my twin brother who kept staring.

~ Later ~

Reiji came down with an bottle in his left hand and sat down on the couch.

"I tried to mix a new potion, ready to destroy Cordelia's spirit for eternity, but the problem is, does someone have a piece of her, like a piece from her hair?  Something?" He asked and looked at us with begging eyes. I shrug my shoulders and glanced over my shoulder to see Kanato.

"Do you still have her ashes, Kanato? If you have, please, give it to him." I got the bottle from Kanato and gave it to Reiji.

"There, maybe?" He poured the fluid into the black bottle and mixed it, waiting for it's result. He grinned happily and smiled at us, for the first time in ever.

"There we go, now we need Amie for this, but can someone handle Richter?" Ayato stood up with no hesitation and grabbed the closest sword. My eyes widened and took the sword.

"Are you sure you can do this again, Ayato?" I asked concerned and waitied from some answer. He pulled back and grinned.

"Sure,  I will be fine, Laito, if I won over him once, I can do it twice." He showed it with his fingers and walked away from the living room.

Ayato's P.O.V

I held the sword to the ground and walked to the room with inhuman speed, I took with all of my strength and and punched the door opened. Richter stood in the balcony, holding Amie close to his chest. I growled and walked towards him.

"You release her, now." I shot him an deadly glare and came closer. He smirked and started to walk backwards to the edge.

"Your mother has promised me about one thing, to eliminate all of you and then be the next head of the family." He snickered and grabbed another sword beside of him.

"Now, shall we finish this? Once and for all, my dear nephew?"
