*Kaya's POV*

I put my foot on the wall, where one of the stones stuck out almost a full six inches.

Most of the wall was like this, with random stones and pieces of the wall sticking out at different angles and lengths. They were spaced in a way that I suspected it was used as a fire escape.

I grabbed another stone that jetted out of the wall and moved my other foot so it shared a step with my other foot.

"What in Heaven's name are you trying to do?" Margaret asked, though I knew she knew the answer. And because of that, I didn't answer.

I was about halfway up the wall when I heard a grunt below me, looked down, and saw Margaret's head about a foot below my feet, also climbing toward the window.

When I reached the top, I balanced on one wobbly foot to test the window.

When I pushed on the top of the window, it screeched open slowly and choppily, as it was dusty and probably hadn't been opened in years, but nevertheless it opened up after many hideous noises.

I looked down at Margaret. "Here goes nothing," I said and plunged through the window.
