CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

Day of Rebirth

***

Torin

I felt my body full of pain, matapos tanggapin ang mga atake ni Raksha — yan yung pangalan ng humanoid na kinakalaban ko. Because of her ability to read mind, nahihirapan akong umilag. My attacks were useless, as well. Sumagi nga minsan sa isip ko na wala akong pag-asang manalo sa kanya, but I got rid of that thought. I didn’t had time to gave up.

"Look at yourself. You looked pathetic!" Pang-iinsulto ni Raksha. She launched herself, again, towards me at saka ako pinatamaan ng magkakasunod na suntok at sipa. While I blocked all of it, na tila isang boksengerong na-corner sa ring. “You’re no match for us, guardians! No one will ever be!”

Her smile was so devious, na kapag tingnan mo ay parang gusto mong masuka. Her eyes were dilating, as if she was surprised and astonished to see me being pounded to a pulp.

Raksha delivered a powerful blow on my defensive arms, dahilan para tumilapon ako nang ilang metro mula sa kanya.

“Sikmurahin? Yun ay kung matatamaan mo ako!” she cracked another laugh na balot pa rin ng kademonyohan.

“Animals were unpredictable because of their animalistic instincts. That’s what made them different from other beings.” Pag-alaala ko sa sinabi ni Tanda. I didn’t knew kung bakit bigla nalang itong lumitaw, but I know it had something to do with me right now.

“Animals were unpredictable,” bulong na pag-uulit ko nito. Pansin ko naman ang pagtigil ng pagtawa ni Raksha, as if she heard me. “Animal instinct.” Bulalas ko. That’s it! I just have to use my instinct! Animals are sentience beings, they were driven by their  feelings.

“At paano naman makakatulong ang instinct mo?" Raksha snickered, taunting my very thought.

"You’ll find it out?" nakangiti kong tugon.

I closed my eyes and cleared my mind from everything. My mental processes were shutting down, and only my instinct was left. It actually felt uncomfortable — thinking about nothing. But the moment I heard Raksha hissed, I knew that I’m gonna win this fight. I opened my eyes at bumungad sa akin ang naiinis at galit na mukha ni Raksha.

"Shall we start, again?" panunukso kong tanong sa kanya na siyang mas ikinainis niya.

Raksha let out an frustrating shrieked, then launched herself towards me to deliver another sets of offensives. But none of it was able to hit me. My instinct told me to dodge and attacked her at the same time. The table had turned, and the favor was on me.

Napatigil muna si Raksha. She looked exhausted, unlike earlier. Delivering an attack without landing a single hit on me, sure drained her. She should know that, fighting were actually hitting your opponents, not shouting like a banshee.

The cloud was literally dark, pero mas maitim ang nilalabas nitong aura. It’s so demonic and evil.

"It seems like my master is getting serious now." Too bad for her.

Nasa likod ako ni Raksha, right arm around her neck, and another, pointing at the inferior of her shoulder blades.
