Chapter 74

Emma's POV:

I don't know why, but the guys were crazed over this song, so when we got to the Why Don't We house, they of course showed everyone.

"That's so good!" Jonah compliments.

"I know right?!" Daniel says.

"You guys do realize that could've been the last song I sang before I died." I point out.

"Yes, but your voice is beautiful. I don't know if it's from the emotion, or passion or whatever, but it's...awesome." Corbyn admires.

"Whatever, you guys are weird. I've got to get back home though because Logan is very upset that I've spent most of my time with you. He texted me and told me he 'wants to see his babygirl.' So he obviously misses me. So, I'm going to pack up all my stuff." I say.

"All packed." I say coming down the stairs with my Yeti backpack.

"Do you have to go?" Daniel pouts and holds on to me tightly.

"Yeah, we like you here." Zach whines and wraps himself around my left leg.

"Guys, I've got to go home. I haven't seen Logan in like....forever!" I state, not being able to remember how long it's been.

"B-but who's going to make us breakfast in the morning?" Corbyn puckers his bottom lip.

"Your the only one that makes eggs how I like them! Everyone else either makes them too dry or too squishy." Jonah complains. All of the boys start rambling at the same time, sounding like a jumbled mess.

"I'll come visit soon, I promise." I smile. I try to walk, but Zach hasn't let go of my leg.

"Zach, you have to let go. I need to leave." I demand.

"No." He says like a stubborn little boy. "And, you don't need to leave, you want to leave."

"Zach, you're being very difficult. Can I please go?" I ask in the nicest voice possible.

"Fine." He huffs sadly.

"I'll see you guys later." I say, hugging each one of them. I go to hug Jack, but he's not there.

"Where's Jack?" I ask.

"I don't know, go check in our room." Daniel says. I go upstairs to Daniel and jack's room and open the door.

"Jack....?" I ask cautiously, not wanting to repeat what happened last time.

"Oh, Em, Hey." He says, taking off his headphones, moving his poodle that he calls hair. He has bags under his eyes and his cheeks are red.

"Have you been crying?" I question.

"No."

"That's a lie. Why are you upset?"

"I was just listening to something...it's really nothing." He sniffles, hiding his phone.

"Let me see." I command.

"No-"

"Jack." I order sternly. He sighs and hands me his phone. He's listening to my cover of Burn. I stare at the screen, not knowing what to say.

"You could've died." Jack chokes up. "I would've blamed myself if you did."

He sits across from me, he in his bed and me on Daniels. I look up and notice he's looking at me too.

"I don't...I don't know what I would've done if I didn't have you here. You make me feel like I'm not crazy. And that's why I'm in love with you." He cries.

"Jack...." I breathe out. At this point, I'm crying too. He crawls over to me and puts my chin up with his index finger.

"And I always will love you. We love each other. And I know it's not the same type of love, but it's still love. That's what holds us together." He shows a sliver of a smile. I reach down to him and hug him. His muscular arms wrap around my back and his head lay on my shoulder.

"Emma, are you ready?" Daniel asks quietly.

"Yeah, I am." I cough and wipe the tears away.

"Okay, let's go." He smiles softly.

"Bye Em." Jack says abruptly.

"Bye noodles." I chuckle.

Logan, Brendon, Evan, Noah, and I have been playing board games and catching up for the past few hours. We ordered pizza and wings and ate all of it.

"Well, I think I'm going to hit the hay. I'll see you tomorrow." I say.

"Oh, actually, Brendon, Evan and I have a meeting with Jeff and Noah wants to go Go Kart racing with Liam, so Tory is going to pick him up tomorrow. You'll have to house to yourself." Logan explains. I nod my head confidently, liking the idea of staying home alone. As I'm walking upstairs, I hear Brendon whisper to Logan,

"Are you sure that's a good idea? You know what happened last time she was alone."

"I'll be fine." I say. He perked his head up so fast, it was hard not to laugh.

I sent streaks to my Snapchat and quickly fell asleep.
