Emma's POV:

I order an Uber to take me to Daniel's house. When I arrive, I pay the woman and run up to his house.

I knock once.

Twice.

A third time.

No answer.

"Daniel?" I yell. I twist the door handle and realize it's unlocked.

"Daniel...you're scaring me." I say and swing the door open. I tightly grip onto the small present I brought him. I set my phone down on the island in his kitchen.

I hear a loud crash come from upstairs.

"Dani?!" I yell and run upstairs. I open the door and see Madison on top of Daniel.

"Madison...I thought you were.."

"In jail? Yeah, but guess who bailed me out." She says with a smirk and turns to Daniel.

"Emma! I can explain-"

"No. You don't have to." I say as tears flood down my face. I throw the present at him and run back downstairs. I shouldn't have trusted him.

"Emma!" He yells behind me. I just ignore him and walk out the door. He runs up behind me and grabs my hand.

"Get off me!" I scream.

"Just let me explain!" He says desperately.

"No! I've given you too many chances! And how do you explain her on top of you?" I ask. He sighs and shakes his head. "That's what I thought."

I get out of his grip and run down the street. I don't have any more money to pay for an Uber and I can't drive. I sprint away as fast as I can. When I stop, I'm out of breath and have no idea where I am. I reach for my back pocket and realize my left my phone on his island. Damn it!

I walk down a sidewalk as I look at the sun. It's about to set. As I'm walking, a car pulls up beside me.

"Do you need a ride?" A familiar voice asks.

"Jack? What are you doing here?" I ask and quickly wipe away the tears.

"First of all, why are you here? Secondly, have you been crying?" He questions. I open his car door and get in.

"One, I came home early. Secondly, I don't feel like talking about it." I sigh. He nods his head and starts driving towards Hollywood boulevard. I tuck my legs to my chest and rest my chin on top of my knees.

"Emma, I know we haven't been best of friends, but I want you to feel like you can open up to me. About anything." Jack says. I don't answer. All I do is nod my head and look out the window.

Jack's POV:

She doesn't answer. All she does is nod her head and look out the window. I feel bad. I don't know what happened and she looks pretty hurt.

"Jack?" She asks.

"Yeah?" I respond.

"Have you ever loved somebody. Like not your family, but a girl." She asks.

"Yeah, I have. Why do you ask?" I question.

"I was just wondering. So, you know what it's like to go through heartbreak?"

"Yeah, actually. The girl left me for my best friend. Man, I haven't talked to them in 2 years." I chuckle. "She shattered me. She took a part of me I'll never get back. I haven't thought about her for a long time. Not since someone else walked into my life."

"Who's that?" She asks curiously.

"That, my friend, is a secret I'm not allowed to tell. But, I've kept my opinion to myself. It's easier that way." I smile. Little does she know...

"Who's your favorite. Out of the boys, I mean."

"So many questions." I snicker. "But if I had to choose, Daniel. He's been there for me when the other guys weren't. Early in our career, I wanted to be a solo artist. So, I left the group. The other guys hated me so much, but Daniel, he was there to support me. He helped me write songs, got me enough money to buy a guitar, and taught me how to play piano. He has the kindest soul, that's for sure."

"Wow." She says.

"Did you and Dani get in a fight?" I ask. He shakes her head and looks at me with big puppy eyes. Her eyes were the type of brown that was like sweet chocolate, that melts at the slightest bit of love and happiness. But that chocolate had grown hard from the cold harsh reality that is apparent in this world. Heartbreak, or the depression that she hid from all those around her so well.

"He cheated on me." She says. The air grew thin and cold. Her eyes got glossy.

"Are you sure? Daniel wouldn't do that." I say, shocked.

"I thought he wouldn't either, but he did." She answered.

"On Christmas?" I asked. She nods her head and wipes away another tear.

"I'm sorry." I say, clearing my throat.

"You don't have to be." She says.

"What?"

"You don't have to feel sorry for me."

"Why shouldn't I? You're my friend, I'm worried about you." I stare, no longer paying attention to the road.

"I just don't think you should waste your time." She shrugs.

"Em, whatever you're going through, I can help. Just, talk to me. Rant about your feelings. Cry if you want. It's okay for you to express yourself. What is said in this car, stays in this car. Forever." I say. I told her to rant; and that's exactly what she did. She told all of her feelings. How she felt betrayed, lost, hopeless. How she got him a guitar pick that said, "I plucking love you." For Christmas. She even told me about the time she almost kissed Zach, which surprised me, because Zach normally doesn't go for girls. He's kind of a keep-to-himself kinda guy, if you know what I mean. But it was nice to know that Emma could come to me whenever she wanted to express herself emotionally. I eventually just dropped her off at her house and asked her if she wanted me to stay. She had been bawling her eyes out for the past hour. She said no though, but what I later found out is that I wish I had gone in. And never left...
