Chapter 17

Emma's POV:

"Why did this happen to me?" I ask while my eyes are tearing up.

"I-I don't know Em...I've been asking myself the same question. But you wanna know something cool? Your biological uncle works here. He's taking care of you." Logan says.

My heart dropped. I feel like I can barely breathe. The walls are closing in on me. So with that, I start to cry.

"Em, what's wrong?" Logan asks and rushes over to me.

"H-he's the o-one t-t-that did this." I say bawling crying onto the bed.

"What? Are you sure?" He asks.

"Y-yes." I say as I look up at Logan. His fists are clenched tightly and his eyes are filled with fury.

"I'm going to catch this sick bastard." Logan says and walks out of the room.

Logans POV:
"Doctor Conley, a word?" I ask and signal him over to an empty corner.

"What is it Mr. Paul?" He asks.

"I want someone else taking care of Emma. Doctor Benson isn't suitable for her." I say.

"Well, we don't have any other doctors in today that don't already have a patient." Dr. Conley explains.

"Switch him out with someone. I swear to god if I see that mans face one more time, I'll-!" I say before getting cut off by Dr. Conley

"Sir, please calm down. Why don't you want Dr. Benson to take care of Emma? They can reconnect and get to know each other!" Dr. Conley says.

"That's exactly what I'm afraid of! Emma claims that he is the one that did this to her. He hurt my baby girl!" I exclaim.

"Now, don't go making assumptions." Dr. Conley whispers.

"So you don't believe me?"

"It's not that I don't believe you...to be perfectly honest, we've had this problem before...someone has claimed to be sexually harassed by him, but the police can never connect the dots." Dr. Conley informs. Suddenly, there's a scream.

"LET ME GO!" Emma yells. I sprint down the surprisingly empty hallway. Dr. Benson has Emma thrown over his shoulder as he runs for the elevator. I chase after him while Dr. Conley calls the police.

"Let her go! I'm not letting you take her away from me again!" I yell. Dr. Benson turns around with a shocked expression. He shifts his body and hops into an elevator. As I approach the elevator, the doors are an inch apart. I stick my hand in the crack, and the doors open. Dr. Benson drops Emma and tries to punch me, but I dodge it and punch him in the face. He falls to the ground and lay there unconscious. I pick Emma up and bring her back to her room. Nurses surround me and give Emma the care she needs.

Shortly after, the police arrive. They arrest him and ask me if I want to file a restraining order. Of course I accept and fill out paperwork. Later, I sit down in a chair next to Emma's bed.

"Hey" She says.

"Hey. How are you feeling." I ask

"Better." She says.

"I have to tell you something...I'm not sure if you'll like it though." I say.

"What is it?" She asks.

"You know how I said we were going to Italy?" I ask.

"I totally forgot about that, but yea." She says.

"Well, I have business that I have to go to there, but you cant fly in the condition you're in...so I have to leave you here. It will be your first time without me." I say almost about to cry. Just the thought of leaving her here scares me.

"Wait, What? Who will I stay with?" She asks.

"The Why Don't We boys. I would let Jake take care of you, but he's already in Italy. And I don't think I can trust any of the other Team 10 members." I explain.

"But I don't know them...for all I know they could hurt me." She whines.

"They won't hurt you. Ive already told them that you don't like to be touched, and they need to keep an eye on you. If they don't, just text me and I'll take care of them, okay?" I ask.

"Okay." She agrees. "When do you have to leave?"

"Tomorrow morning." I say sadly.

"Oh" she manages to get out.

"But I'll call you every day, and we can talk." I say.

"Okay. You need to rest though, it's already 12:00" she says. Wow, she sound like more of an adult than I do.

"Goodnight Em. I-I love you." I shakily say, hoping for a good response. She slightly grins

"I love you too Logan." She says.
