Yesterday (poem)

It's when darkness haunts, you miss the light,
It's when amidst everything wrong, you search for right,
It's when your heart and you are on a different way,
That's when you miss all those times of yesterday.

You look back and find your smiles,
As stories written on the road for miles.
It's the same road, but you won't dare to say
That it will now be a part of your yesterday.

Even if the person is gone, it's the memories that haunt us forever,
Even if time fades, you'll cherish the time spent together,
All those memories that weren't camera's prey
Will now adorn your yesterday.

Yes, hurt too will be there along with joy,
Yes, pain too will be there, for you to annoy,
It's where good and bad together stay
You'll know that it's a part of yesterday.

Now you're moving on, you want to forget the past,
This time too, will fly, hard and fast,
But someday, in future, on your final bed you'll lay,
And miss everything about yesterday.
