Spectacles (poem)

48 9 8

I can't decide if i prefer
Them on or off my form-
A blurry mess or a distinct clarity,
How difficult it is to choose from!

Spectacles on:

A beautiful world,
With everything predefined,
A mask to trust,
In a place endlessly confined.

Knowing what you see
And perceiving it's converse,
Eyes wide open forward,
But turning blind in reverse.

Spectacles off:

A vision with a haze,
Setting senses rather high,
Masks unseen broken down,
Instincts your only alibi.

Seeing what's real,
What a paradoxical view!
The cloud in your eyes
With perspectives anew.

It's a tough choice, but
I'm glad for the occasional switch.
A power to see two of one,
Be it a disaster or a snitch.
