The Adirondacks (poem)

54 10 13

The peak falls higher as i climb Mount Marcy,
A hold on the jagged rocks, a beat in the thumping heart,
The triumphant wind blowing under me,
Letting the city beneath enjoy it's part.

The rugged gorges and rapids and streams,
As i dive under to the deapths of finesse,
The cool currents with aqualife
Dancing with me in sweet caress.

And those rouge, jaune and vert leaves,
They leave no awe behind,
With that everlasting cherps making a symphony,
Singing a lullaby in the mind.

The dawn at the waters,
Or the dusk at the peak,
Wonder of the wilderness,
Calm of the creek.

The streets, flanked by orchards,
The orchards, gaurded by woods,
The woods under the shade of blue and black mountains,
An infinite story of its roots.

A home, a haven, a hearth,
The Adirondacks pride me red.
'A glimpse of paradise party,
Forever, never ending,' they said.

And in the core, as the memories build,
A stay, a life, a journey anew.
Lost they have gone to seek themselves,
Unfound have come back, very few.
