Words Of An Idle Mind

Uncomfortable (poem)

She was a chaser,
Her dreams burned like the laser-
Crisp and sharp,
Alluring and deadly.
She ached for adventures,
She craved for unknown.
Her hunger more thick than the satisfaction  in her bones.
She yearned to be lost,
Maybe with A companion or Maybe alone,
She was eager to leave behind every comfort she had known.
Her solace rested in being unstoppable,
Building a travelogue from a desperate life,
Her dreams lusted for anything but home,
Souvenirs of memories crushing her shaken soul.
Comfort was uncomfortable to her,
So she found  comfort in the uncomfortable,
The rough edges of spiny rocks,
The tough bites of mosquitoes under a star sheet,
The chilling waves of the arctic
The sunburns of the sands galactic.
She roared that she is different,
She rebelled against comfort,
She revelled in her legendary sagas,
She revealed to none her hidden caves.
But when she paused to look for newness,
She found  nothing,  she was clueless,
Her comfort of the uncomfortable was long overdue to end,
Unmasking her facade of  preach and pretend.
Nowhere to go,  nowhere to unveil,
Now it was her time  to deal with the real
What should she do?
Where should  she go?
Home was supposed  to be outside the doors.
But her spirit led her back,
To the porch of comfort she had once known,
But she lost her self control,
As she srung her self back
Into the empty walls of an orphaned home,
The uncomfortable aura broke her heart,
But she can't  run again from her part.
The footsteps that once scorched  the earth,
Were now resting  in the haven of hearth.
Making peace with the uncomfortable comfort.

So...  It's  been awhile... Poet's  block kept me from writing along with some other  things. But here's  something for the end of the year.
