"No! Not another time, Namjoon!" Diena yelled at the poor boy who was wanting to help them cook again, another time to destroy people's appetite.
"But I can cut the onions?" Namjoon pleaded like a little child. And Diena didn't have the courage to resist such silliness. So she agreed anyways. Sh felt like an experienced mother.
"Okay. ONLY the onions, alright?" Diena lifted her fingers, snapping before his eyes to confirm her statement. Namjoon sincerely nodded. He happily went to the empty place kept for cutting veggies. He swiftly brought out the chopping board and placed it on the plain surface. This board was a brand new one since he had broken the previous one, unknowingly.
Diena was keeping a good eye on him. After the previous accident, she refuses to accept that Namjoon can do a single thing without breaking something. But she sighed in relief when he was able to at least place the board. She looked at the sauce she was making.
Then, suddenly, a loud clashing sound was heard. Diena jumped up at the sound and instinctively grabbed the nearby silverwear as her weapon.
She scoffed when she saw the blade separated from the knife. She couldn't believe how a knife could be broken. Then again, this boy could break anything. Both abstractly and practically.
"Sorry....." Namjoon muttered and picked up both the pieces of the now broken knife. He sighed and put them both in the bin.
"How can you break a knife?" Diena said, disgusted. Namjoon looked at her like a kid pleading for her to forgive him. She just couldn't resist him. She didn't knew why but her sympathy took over her. She felt like Namjoon was her kid and she believed her kid would be irresistible.
"Okay. Open that drawer, there's another knife." Diena said, doing her cooking with one hand and the other pointing at the drawer. Namjoons face lit up as he smiled wide, showing his dimples. Diena felt a surge of joy when Namjoon looked satisfied. She felt contended that she could make her child happy.
Although she doesn't have one. She thought of Namjoon like that.
Namjoon gladly opened the drawer and most carefully took the knife out, without breaking it. He showed his achievement to Diena with his chest puffed in pride. Diena couldn't help the chuckle that left her mouth.
"How is Maisa doing?" she asked. She had met the girl two days ago. Maisa was a fun person to be with. She was good with her words and she adopted Diena's mindset very quickly. Diena found her pretty interesting to talk with.
"She's always excellent." Namjoon replied.
Then, another sound of clashing could be heard. Diena jumped up. Again. She wouldn't let her motherly sympathy take over if he breaks the knife again.
"The hell!?!?" Diena yelled.
"Its nothing! I just cut the onion is half." Namjoon protested. He also doesn't want his mother like figure scold him again.
Diena heaved a deep breath.
"I would like to meet her again." Diena said, regarding Maisa, the jolly girl.
"Of course!" Namjoon said without any sense. Rather, he was too focused on the onion he was cutting. He was going through deep confusion. He has cut it in half. What to do now?
He tried to cut on the halves into half, without putting the flat part on the surface of the board. Everyone can imagine what is happening right now.
Diena looked at him. His face showed pure struggle. His veins were showing and Namjoon himself didn't understand why he couldn't cut the onion with so much force. His lips quivered when he tried to put up more strength, moving the knife bit back and forth to make his attempts work.
