"Stay close to me (Y/N), okay?"

"Okay." (Y/N) did whatever her master, Kylo Ren, told her. She adored him, and always wanted to make him proud. Kylo Ren loved his apprentice's bubbly personality, loyalty, and determination, though he didn't show it. Now, after months of training, (Y/N) was on her first combat mission, and Kylo Ren was going to make sure she was okay. Finally, the shuttle landed on the planet they were going to take over. Stormtroopers charged out of the ship and onto the snowy planet. Kylo Ren and (Y/N) followed them, lightsabers ignited. Some villagers tried to resist, but they were all killed where they stood. They were halfway finished clearing the planet of life forms when the Resistance showed up.

There were soldiers everywhere. The air was filled with the sound of people shooting and screams. (Y/N) fought well for her first battle, lightsaber a flash as it pierced flesh and spun around. Kylo Ren admired his young apprentice's ferocity. She was savage on the battlefield, showing her opponents no mercy.

After a while, an officer yelled, "Retreat!" and the Resistance fighters all ran to their ships. They left. The mission was a success. Kylo Ren and his troopers managed to clear the planet of all inhabitants. The First Order was going to build a super weapon there, called Starkiller Base. Kylo Ren and his troopers all walked onto the ship. Then Kylo Ren noticed something. "Don't lift off," he ordered. "Has anyone seen my apprentice?" The stormtroopers talked among themselves. No one had seen (Y/N) since the battle with the Resistance. Kylo Ren took five stormtroopers with him, and they searched for (Y/N). They looked literally everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found. After several hours of searching, they had no choice but to go back home.

(Y/N) screamed and threw herself against the door of her cell. She reached for her lightsaber before remembering her captors had taken it from her. She kept throwing herself against the door, but it didn't budge. The last time she tried, she fell backward and landed on her arm. She couldn't feel it. A Resistance fighter opened her cell door. "Stop resisting (Y/N). You're not going to get out of here any faster." (Y/N) glared at the pilot. She knew him all too well. She hated him as much as she adored Kylo Ren. The pilot walked toward her, and she moved back. The pilot stared at her.

"Go away," she ordered. "I don't want to talk to you."

"(Y/N)--"

"No!"

"(Y/N) (Y/M/N) Dameron, just listen to me for one minute!"

"Why? You don't care, you broke your promise!" The pilot stared at (Y/N), sadness in his eyes.

"Do you think I wanted to leave you (Y/N)? I had to join the Resistance. It was the only way--"

"You left me alone on Yavin 4! I didn't see you for years! You didn't write to me, you didn't contact me at all! You promised you would, but you didn't Poe, you didn't!" Tears spilled down (Y/N)'s cheeks. "I thought you were dead," she continued, voice breaking. "You promised you would always be there for me, you promised you would never leave me alone, but you did. You broke all your promises Poe." Poe Dameron stared at his little sister. He realized everything she was saying was true. He had broken every promise he had made to (Y/N). He had promised to take care of her, and here she was, scared and alone, hurt physically and emotionally.

"I'm sorry (Y/N). I promise--"

"Don't make any more promises." Poe nodded, and left, closing the door behind him. (Y/N) climbed onto her bed. She still couldn't feel her arm. There was a huge bruise where she had landed on it. It was probably broken.... All these thoughts filled her mind as she drifted off to sleep.

(Y/N) woke up in Kylo Ren's arms. He was holding her in his lap on a shuttle. She snuggled closer to him. She had always felt safe around Kylo Ren. He never made any promises, so he had never broken any either. He had never left her behind, never made her feel lost or alone. He was everything her brother wasn't. She trusted him with her life.

Kylo Ren noticed (Y/N) was awake. He glared at her through his mask. "Why did you get captured? I told you to stay close to me! Why didn't you listen?" (Y/N)'s eyes widened in fear, and she pulled away from him. Kylo Ren took off his mask. "You worried me (Y/N). Why didn't you try to escape? Why didn't you come back home?"

"I tried to escape! I broke my arm trying to get out of the cell, but the door didn't budge. I wanted to come home, but I couldn't. I didn't want to go far away from you, but my brother dragged me away. I listened to you, I do everything you tell me to do. Why are you yelling at me?" Kylo Ren stared at (Y/N). It was strange how they were almost the same age, but she was so childlike and innocent.

"I'm sorry (Y/N)," Kylo Ren said. "Everything will be alright. I promise." She just stared at him.

"Am I supposed to believe you," she asked.

"I think you should," Kylo Ren answered, and (Y/N) glared at him.

"Even if you're just going to end up breaking your promise?"

"I won't break it."

"Yes, you will. Everyone who's ever made me a promise broke the promise."

"Well, I won't break mine. And I'll take care of you. You won't be alone anymore." With that, Kylo Ren placed a light kiss on (Y/N)'s mouth. She smiled at him.

"I trust you," she said, and Kylo Ren smiled.
