Your phone beeped, alerting you that you had a text message. You groaned and rolled over in bed, picking up your phone to check it. Normally, you wouldn't mind getting a text message, but it was midnight, and you had an early shift at work. You looked at your phone, then sat up and rubbed your eyes. The message was from Han, your ex boyfriend.
hey boo the bathroom INT his place is AMAzing people are cooking in it
You sighed and shook your head(if anyone gets that reference, I will be so happy). Han must be drunk. Why else would he be texting you in the middle of the night? It would also explain why there were capital letters in random places, and why he called you boo. He never called you that when you were dating. You put your phone back on your nightstand and tried to go back to sleep. However, you simply couldn't stand the thought of Han out there alone, so drunk that he was texting you. Your breakup was pretty nasty.
Han? Where are you?
You sat up, and stared at your phone, waiting for a response.
THE bar on fifth street OOOH THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG!!!!!!!!!! i wish you were here to hear. i luv u 😘
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn't help smiling. You shot Han a quick text.
Okay, just stay there. I'm coming to pick you up.
You got up and pulled on some clothes. You ran a brush through your hair, then pulled it back in a ponytail. You grabbed your phone, then walked out into the living room of your apartment. You pulled on your jacket, then pulled on your sneakers. Your phone dinged, and you checked it.
this dude just insulted u, i punched him, now he's on the floor.
You groaned and rolled your eyes.
Just stay where you are.
You hoped Han would do what you told him to. You hurried out of your apartment. You climbed into your car, and drove to the bar on fifth street. When you got there, police cars where driving away. Your phone dinged.
Hey (Y/N), i'm in truble.... the police got me.
You groaned and banged your head on the steering wheel. That was typical of Han. He was always getting into fights, always "shooting first," as he put it. It got him into trouble more often than not. You wished he would show some restraint, but he didn't change. That was part of the reason you broke up. You texted Han quickly.
Okay, when you get to make your call, call me, okay? I'll be right there. Don't worry.
You took a cereal bar out of your glove compartment and ate it quickly. Something told you you would need it. Then you started to head to the police station. You pulled over when your phone rang, heart pounding. "Hello," you said.
"Hey, (Y/N)," Han said, and you collapsed with relief inside.
"Han, don't worry, I'm almost at the police station."
"I'm not worried."
"Good. I'll see you soon."
"Bail's $100."
"Okay. I'll pay it when I get there." You checked your glove compartment. You opened the wallet you kept in there for emergencies, and you counted what was in there. You had $250. You breathed a sigh of relief.
"(Y/N), I'll pay you back as soon as possible."
"I know you will."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I don't mind coming to get you."
"No--"
"I've got to go, Han. I'll see you soon." Han sighed.
"Okay, (Y/N). See you soon." You hung up at the same time as Han. You drove the rest of the way to the police station. You parked your car and went inside. You payed Han's bail, then you braced yourself while the officer got him out of his cell. Your heart started pounding when you saw Han. He looked exactly the same as the last time you had seen him. When the police officers let him go, he hurried over to you. "Han--" you started, but you were cut off by him hugging you. You patted his back awkwardly.
"I missed you, (Y/N)," he murmured in your ear. You wiggled your way out of his grip.
"Let's just get you home," you said. "My car is this way." You walked out to your car together. You climbed into the driver seat, and Han sat down beside you. Once you both fastened your seat belts, you started driving. You both were silent halfway to Han's apartment. "It feels like we're dating again," Han said softly.
"It does," you agreed. "Especially the part where I have to pick you up from the police station." Han sighed.
"(Y/N), I'm sorry."
"I told you, I don't mind picking you up."
"I'm sorry you have to deal with me. I'm sorry for--everything." You sighed.
"I'm your ex. You can call me when you need someone to pick you up from a bar or from the police station. I really don't care. Just don't make me regret it." Han nodded, and you turned on the radio. You were both quiet as the song that was playing finished. Then a familiar tune started playing.
Got a boy back home in Michigan,
And it tastes like Jack when I'm kissing him,
So I told him that I never really liked his friends.
Now he's gone and he's calling me a b--ch again.
There's a guy that lives in garden state,
And he told me that we'd make it till we graduate,
So I told him that the music will be worth the wait,
But he wants me in the kitchen with a dinner plate.
I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe
That we're meant to be.
But jealousy, jealousy, jealousy, jealousy
Get the best of me.
Look, I don't mean to frustrate,
But I always make the same mistakes,
Yeah I always make the same mistakes 'cause,
"I'm bad at love! Ooo, ooo. But you can't blame me for trying, you know I'd be lying saying, you were the one! Ooo, ooo. That could finally fix me, looking at my history, I'm bad at love." You stared at Han, eyes wide. He grinned at you. "You're part," he said, and you blushed.
"Han--"
"C'mon, (Y/N)!" You sighed, rolled your eyes, and smiled.
"Got a girl with California eyes, and I thought that she could be the one this time, but I never got the chance to make her mine because she fell in love with little thin white lines," you sang. Han grinned at you. This encouraged you to keep singing. "London girl with an attitude, we never told no one, but we looked so cute. Both had way better things to do, but I always think about her when I'm driving through." Han joined in, and you sang the rest of the song together. By the time it was over, you had reached his apartment. Han got out of the car, laughing and smiling.
"Thanks, (Y/N)," he said. "I had a great night." You beamed at Han.
"If you want to go drinking again, call me first so I can join you, okay," you said. Han smiled at you.
"Sure thing," he said. Han shut the car door, and you drove away as he walked to his apartment building. The sun was rising just as you reached your apartment.
