Han landed the Falcon on a small, gray planet on the Outer Rim. "Here again," Chewie asked.

"Yeah. Here again."

"Leia still loves you, you know. Things might be rough now, but no one blames you for what B--"

"Yeah, I know. I just need to see her, okay?" With that, Han left the ship. He walked through the streets seemingly aimlessly. He knew that, whatever path he took, he'd eventually wind up at her door. He always did.

(Y/N) (L/N) was seventeen when he met her. He had just flunked out of the Imperial Academy and wound up on this planet, serving time in the Army. He had been forced to kill her father right in front of her. He had made eye contact with her right after. She was glaring at him, shielding a small child from him. As soon as his shift was over, he walked through the streets aimlessly. Eventually, he ended up at this place called (L/N)'s. He saw her as soon as he entered. She glared at him.

"What do you want?" Her voice was cold and unfriendly. Han swallowed his fear.

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to kill him. We honestly suck so much and I really hate working for those guys."

"So why do you?"

"It's a long story." The girl sighed.

"Sit," she ordered, and walked into the back room. Han did what he was told. When the girl returned, she set a cup of coffee and a slice of some dark pie with a crumble on top. "I have time," she said.

Han stopped by again after Qi'ra left, when he won the Falcon, each time he lost a shipment for Jabba. (Y/N) was always there with a cup of coffee and whatever she had baked that morning. She listened to every story Han told and offered sympathy and support. They had kissed once, when Han had shown the Rebels the place to celebrate blowing up the Death Star. He had told her he was joining up and that he wouldn't see her for a while.

Everyone knows the rest of the story. How Han bravely fought the Empire he once served, kissed Leia, got frozen in carbonite, said their famous words, got rescued, defeated the Empire, and married her. But that was all over. Now that Ben was gone, Han was lost. He didn't know whether to believe everyone when they said it wwasn't his fault. He wondered if he was a good father, if he should have been more there for him, and if he had, would it have made any difference?

He knew no one had those answers for him. But maybe seeing (Y/N) again, telling the story, listening to her voice, would help him. Even if it didn't, there was still coffee and something sweet to look forward to.

Han walked into (L/N)'s. There was a girl a little older than Ben at the counter. She had red hair, (S/C) skin, and (E/C) eyes. She watched Han as he made his way to the counter. "Is the owner of this place here?" His heart was pounding. He hoped the answer wasn't, "I'm the owner." The girl shook her head.

"Mum's at the cemetery," she said.

"Alright. I guess I'll just have a cup of black coffee and whatever was baked this morning." He handed the girl the credits and sat down. A moment later he was slowly sipping his drink and picking at the apple pie. Soon, (Y/N) entered and began talking to the girl. She then hurried over to Han.

"Long time, no see." Han shrugged.

"Told you I'd be gone a while." He noticed the ring on her finger. "Is your husband going to beat me up for talking to you?"

"No. He died at Endor."

"Oh. I'm sorry." She laughed humorlessly and wiped her eyes.

"So, where's your wife?"

"She's alive. We're not really together anymore, though."

"What do you mean?"

"It's a long story."

"I have time." So Han told her everything, starting from when he joined the Rebellion. At the end, (Y/N) just laughed. "That makes me feel a lot better about my parenting skills." Han rolled his eyes.

"Is the kid at the counter yours?" (Y/N) nodded.

"That's my Jaime."

"I don't think she likes me."

"You're just not from around here. She's more open with our regulars." The pair talked the afternoon away. As night fell, (Y/N) walked Han out of the inn. "Are you sure you and your companion don't want a couple rooms?"

"Yeah. Chewie doesn't really like sleeping anywhere but the ship."

"Alright, then." (Y/N) kissed Han. "Don't leave me that long again, alright?"

"Alright. Goodbye, (Y/N)." Han kissed her forehead and walked back to the Falcon.
