You wore the hair pin every day. You waited and waited and waited for Luke to show up, but he didn't come. You lived your life. You did everything you could to keep yourself from missing Luke, but it never worked. Then one day, you heard the Empire had been overthrown. The Emperor and Darth Vader had been terminated. So you waited for Luke some more. He never arrived. You locked the hairpin up in a box. You never visited a cantina. You threw yourself into your job, anything to move on and forget him. None of it worked. You loved Luke too much.

One day, you had enough. You weren't going to stay on Tatooine any longer. You packed up a few sets of clothes, eating and cooking utensils, a pillow and a blanket, and some food. You took the hair pin out of its box. The forget me nots were still a vibrant blue, like Luke's eyes. You stared at it for a few minutes, smiling to yourself. Then you slid it into your hair, which you had pulled back into a braid.

You rode your landspeeder up to the cantina. It had picked itself up after Jabba died. People still came there, and the service was much better. The drinks were better too. You walked into the cantina, carrying your bag. You started talking to people, trying to see if anyone would fly you to Coruscant. You finally found someone who seemed reliable. He was a wookie by the name of Chewbacca. He took you to his partner, who said his name was Han Solo. "I can get you to Coruscant," he said. "My wife's there now. However, it'll cost you." You sighed and rolled your eyes.

"How much," you asked.

"10,000 credits."

"2,000." That was a quarter of what you had saved up.

"9,000."

"3,000."

"8,000."

"4,000 credits, and I'll clean your weapons and the engine of your ship."

"Deal." You shook hands with Han Solo. You gave Han the credits, then took his blaster, and Chewbacca's bowcaster, and got to work. You made sure there wasn't a speck of soot or dirt on them. You loaded your bag onto the ship, which was called the Millennium Falcon, and flew off. It was a long flight to Coruscant. Han had to pick up some stuff along the way. You fell asleep halfway there. Han woke you up when he landed on the planet. When you stepped outside, you were awed. You were in the middle of a sprawling city. You turned to the Falcon. Admire the landscape later, you told yourself. You have an engine to clean. You did a really good job. The Falcon was purring when you were done. Of course, you were covered in soot, dust, and grease. Han was still there when you finished up.

"Do you have anywhere to stay," he asked.

"No. Leaving Tatooine was kind of a spur of the moment thing."

"Really? Why'd you just leave like that?"

"I was waiting for someone. He didn't come after years and years."

"I have a friend who said someone was waiting for him on Tatooine. He kept trying to go back with me, but he was needed here. He kept trying to get me to pick up this girl, but I wouldn't. Never had the time." Han smiled at you. "If you have nowhere to go, you can stay with my wife and me."

"Really? She wouldn't mind?"

"Of course not! I'll tell her that Chewie invited you."

"Alright Mr. Solo. Thank you for the offer."

"No problem kid. And you can call me Han. Mr. Solo is a little off putting." You smiled and nodded at him. You walked with Han to his home. You walked in the house. You were met by a five year old boy. He looked up at you with warm, luminous brown eyes. "Who are you," he asked you.

"Hey Ben," Han said, and the boy's face lit up.

"Daddy," he cheered, and you smiled. A woman walked into the room.

"Hey, Han. Who's this," she asked, eyes falling on you.

"My name's (Y/N) (L/N). Chewie invited me. I--"

"(Y/N)?" Luke walked into the room, and you inhaled sharply, tears pricking at your eyes.

"Luke," you whispered. "I--" Luke ran to you and enveloped you in a hug. He started kissing you, and you started laughing and trying to push him off. "Luke, stop! I'm covered in soot and grease, and I really need to take a shower. Luke!"

"I missed you," he breathed. "I tried to get back to you (Y/N), I tried, but I couldn't leave. The government wanted me to do stuff for them, and I've been so busy I never had time to go to Tatooine, I'm sorry."

"We're together now Luke. That's all that matters." Luke let go of you and smiled.

"You're still wearing the hair pin."

"Yeah. Yeah, I am." Luke had a smudge of grease on his cheek, and some grease and soot on his robes. "I need to take a shower," you said with a laugh. Leia smiled at you.

"Ben, please go show (Y/N) to the bathroom."

"Why do I have to do it?"

"So that Uncle Luke behaves himself," Han answered, and Leia swatted his arm.

"Han!" she scolded.

"What? That's the reason, isn't it?"

"Yes, but you don't have to tell Ben that!" Han laughed and kissed Leia on the mouth.

"Eww," Ben yelled, and grabbed your hand. "Come on. The bathroom's upstairs," he said, pulling on your hand. You smiled at him. Ben was so cute. He would be a great man when he grew up.

After you took a shower, you met Luke downstairs, kissed him on the mouth, and took his hand. You walked into the dining room with him. You sat between him and Ben, who talked your ear off. His parents smiled. "He really likes you," Han said, and you smiled. Luke smiled at you.

"Hey, (Y/N), will you marry me," Luke asked.

"Yes," you answered. Luke grinned and kissed you on the mouth. Ben groaned, and you both laughed. You couldn't be more happy.
