A/N: I think I'm going to try writing imagines for Rey. I have an idea for her. Tell me if you like this in the comments, and depending on if I feel it sucks or not, I'll add Rey to the characters I write imagines for.
"Heeeeeeyyy, (YYYYY/NNNNN)," Poe said as he walked up to you. You smiled and put down the book you were reading.
"Hey, Poe," you said. "What's up?" Poe sat down across from you.
"We've known each other for a long time," Poe said. You giggled.
"Where are you going with this, Poe," you asked. He sighed, then a desperate look crossed his face.
"There's a dance tonight. Big party thrown by one of our supporters. Finn and I were invited as representatives of the Resistance. General Organa instructed us to choose one other member to accompany us. I really, really need you to come with me." You rose an eyebrow. "Please," Poe begged. "All the other girls on the base would see this as a date, but you're my best friend, and this isn't a date, so you'd be perfect for the mission. Please?" You laughed, rolling your eyes.
"Okay, Poe," you said. "I'll help you." Poe grinned.
"Thank you so, so, so much! I owe you one!" You sighed and smiled. Now to find a dress....
A few hours later, you were standing at Poe's arm, entering the ballroom. Your heart was pounding. You were searching for Finn and his partner. You were wearing a sleeveless, floor length, black dress with a sweetheart neckline and an open back. You had curled your (H/C) hair, and you wore it loose.
Poe gave you a discreet nudge, and nodded toward Finn. He was standing with someone you had never seen before. She had shoulder length brown hair, light skin, and brown eyes. She wore a dress the same style as yours, but red. You couldn't take your eyes off her. She was gorgeous.
You and Poe made your way over to Finn and the girl. You smiled at her, and she looked away and blushed. "Hey, guys," he said.
"Hi," you said. You turned to the girl. "We haven't met. My name is (Y/N). Who are you?" She smiled at you.
"I'm Rey," she said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rey." She blushed a little more.
"So, you don't know your parents either," she said.
"I knew my father. I barely remember my mother." Then the song Come and Get Your Love started playing. You grinned. You loved that song, and knew all the words. "Would you like to dance," you asked Rey. She blushed a little.
"S-sure," she said. You took her hand and pulled her onto the dance floor.
You began to dance with Rey, singing alone to the song.
"Hell, hell, what's the matter with you head, head? Hell, hell, what's the matter with your mind and your sign and a ohohoh!" You laughed as Rey gave you a weird look.
"Come and get your love!" You continued to giggle as you took Rey's hand again. She was blushing furiously.
"(Y/N), I don't know if this is the best idea...."
"Just go with it," you said. "It feels good!" You twirled Rey around. "Hell, hell! What's the matter with your feel right? Don't you feel right, baby? Hell, oh yeah! Get it from the mainline, alright! I said find it, find it! Come and rub it if you like it, yeah! Hell, hell! It's your business if you won't come and take some. Get it together, baby!" Rey began to giggle at the silly grin plastered across your face as you sang and danced. You were glowing as you danced with her. At the moment, it was just you and Rey. Nobody else was there.
Then, all too soon, the dance ended, and you and Rey just stood across from each other, giggling. "That was amazing," Rey said. "Thank you so, so, so much for asking me to dance."
"No problem," you said. "That was the most fun I've had in ages." You smiled at each other as your giggles subsided and another song began to play. It was a slower song. You looked into Rey's eyes, and your heart skipped a beat. "Would you like to dance again?" you asked, blushing. Say yes, you thought. Please, please say yes. Rey smiled at you.
"I would love to." You smiled, and placed a hand on her waist. Rey put her hand on your shoulder, and took your other hand.
You began to sway to the music. You led, moving slowly around the dance room with Rey. She began to whisper something only you could hear.
"Heart beats fast. Colors and promises. How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?" You realized she was singing along to the music and began to join in, whispering so low only she could hear you.
"I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more.
"Time stands still, beauty in all she is. I will be brave. I will not let anything take away what's standing in front of me. Every breath, every hour has come to this."
"I didn't know you knew this song," Rey said softly.
"My brother and I danced to it together sometimes, when we were little. We pretended we were at one of the huge balls his mother used to go to on Alderaan, before it exploded."
"I love this song," Rey whispered.
"May I cut in," a deep voice asked. You smiled at Rey.
"Speak of the devil," you said. Rey's eyes widened.
"Your brother is--"
"Yep." You tipped your head back and looked at Kylo Ren. "And no, Ben, you may not cut in." He shrugged.
"Your loss." You snorted.
"Yeah, right." Rey giggled. Kylo Ren rolled his eyes.
"See you later," he said. You smirked.
"Where were we," you asked Rey. She looked into your eyes, and you pulled her closer. Your heart began to beat faster as you got closer. Your eyes closed as your lips connected with Rey's. The kiss was short and sweet. You looked into Rey's eyes.
"I think I'm in love with you," you whispered.
"Yeah," Rey whispered back. She looked into your eyes. You stared back into hers, smiling.
"Do you want to introduce ourselves as girlfriends when we go over to talk to Ben," you asked.
"Yes. Will we do the same for Finn and Poe?"
"Of course." You smiled at her, and kissed her one more time. The song ended, and you took Rey's hand as you walked over to Ben.
