"There's no time! I'll meet you at the front. Just go!"

"I don't want to leave you!"

"You have to. If you don't, you'll die. Go. Hurry!" A beam fell. He turned and ran. He heard her scream, and he looked back. The beams kept falling, and he was forced to run. Her screams followed him out of the temple. He tried to go back--

Kylo Ren woke up, drenched in sweat. He walked into the washroom and splashed cold water on his face. He pulled on some clothes, and walked out of his room. It was time to start work. As the Supreme Leader of the First Order, he had a lot to do.

A stormtrooper approached Kylo Ren on his way to the mess hall. "Sir, there is a prisoner. We captured her last night. We haven't gotten any information out of her. Yet." Kylo Ren scowled.

"Why didn't you inform me of her capture last night?"

"You were sleeping. General Hux instructed us not to wake you." Kylo Ren sighed.

"Which interrogation room is she in," he asked. He felt the stormtrooper's relief crash through the room in waves.

"Interrogation Room A, sir," the stormtrooper answered. Kylo Ren nodded.

"You are dismissed," he told the stormtrooper, who saluted and walked away. Kylo Ren made his way to Interrogation Room A. He would eat breakfast later....

Kylo Ren entered the interrogation room. It was quiet, and dark. The girl on the interrogation table was sleeping. He was sure he didn't know who she was, but he felt like he had seen her before somewhere. Kylo Ren shook those thoughts from his head. He studied the girl for a bit. She had chin length, pin straight (H/C) hair, and (S/C) skin. She was beautiful. Kylo Ren shook that thought from his head. He had decided never to love another woman the night (Y/N) died. He still remembered her like he had visited her yesterday.

***

She looked similar to the girl on the interrogation table, medium length, curly (H/C) hair, braid down the side, sparkling (E/C) eyes, (S/C) skin that glowed in the sun. She was beautiful, glowing, magical. She was his best friend. They were madly in love, and everyone knew it. Luke didn't even try to separate them. He knew it would be futile. They had plans. They would talk about what they would do when they got older. He still remembered her voice, an endless song that entranced him and made him 'shout his feelings from the top of a mountain' crazy.

"So, here's the plan," she would say when they were done with their meditation and were just sitting in the meadow, talking. "When we turn eighteen, we'll run away." He would nod, smiling.

"We'll get married, and find a little place on a peaceful planet."

"We'll plant a garden together, full of vegetables."

"And we'll have kids." She would nod, smiling at that part.

"Little ones with your eyes and my hair." He would frown with mock seriousness at this point.

"What's wrong with my hair," he would ask, pretending to be hurt. She would play along.

"It sticks up everywhere," she would answer. "It's never neat." He would punch her in the shoulder, and she would laugh. It was a bright, bubbly sound. Her laugh was music to his ears. Every sound she made was musical to him. It still was, when he replayed her voice in his head. What he wouldn't give to see her--

***

The girl woke up. She slowly opened her eyes. They were (E/C). He told himself it was nothing. Lots of people had (H/C) hair, (S/C) skin, and (E/C) eyes. It wasn't her, it didn't look like her. Kylo Ren frowned to himself. The last time he saw her, they had been sixteen years old. People could change in ten years. It was possible, so possible that it gave him hope. Kylo Ren reached out his hand and looked inside her head.

***

"I love you, Ben."

***

"Stay away from me! You're a monster!"

"(Y/N), calm down--"

"You tried to kill him!"

"(Y/N)--"

"Ben! Ben!"

***

Blackness. A white fist in her face. Blood. Pain. Screams.

***

The girl was staring into his eyes, not smiling or frowning, just staring. Kylo Ren stared back, trembling. They were both silent.

"Are you alright," the girl asked, voice hoarse. Kylo Ren shook his head. She gave him a small half smile. "You've changed," she said.

"So have you," Kylo Ren answered. They were quiet for a moment, then he asked, "Do you still want to run away?" (Y/N) shook her head.

"I'm done running," she said. "That's why I'm here. To stop." Kylo Ren frowned at her. "Ben, I've been running my whole life. I joined Luke's Jedi school to get away from my parents. I ran away from him, I ran all over the galaxy. But I'm here now, and I'm here to stay." Kylo Ren walked over to the interrogation table and unlocked the restraints. He helped (Y/N) off the table.

"Come on," he said. "We really need to catch up." (Y/N) smiled at him and kissed his cheek. She looked down at her hand and swore. It was fading, and fast.

"I'm sorry, Ben," she whispered. "I really thought I could stay." Kylo Ren grabbed her hand.

"You'll be back, won't you (Y/N)," he asked. She smiled at him.

"I'll try to be back. I promise." He smiled and kissed her on the mouth. She faded--

"Ben? Wake up!" Kylo Ren sat up. (Y/N) was smiling at him. He rubbed his eyes.

"What happened," he asked.

"You looked inside my head and you blacked out." Kylo Ren hugged (Y/N) tightly and buried his face in the crook of her neck. She stroked his hair. "I told you I would meet you," she whispered. Kylo Ren smiled.

"Yeah, yeah you did," he agreed.
