Images of beauty, brushed to perfection with one touch.
Ensuring we never measure up or dare to show our own true self.
We filter life to soften edges, smooth out flaws and lighten darkness.
Never wanting to reveal, the imperfect truth to all online.
Yet life is never what it seems, especially when on a screen.
So love your imperfections please, they make us who we are.
Ah, the joy of filtered life! We all love a good filter don't we? I mean, I know I do! However, whilst it can make us feel happy in the short term, we are all portraying an image that isn't reality. Everyone does it. So when we start to compare ourselves to others, we are comparing against an unachievable ideal. There's no harm in posting that beautiful filtered picture. Go for it! But just remember, that's not reality. Everyone has their unfiltered pictures which look nothing like the posted version. Never, ever, feel any less for it.
