"Y/N!"

"Yes?"

"Your boyfriend keeps calling you."

Jasmine, which is a girl who works with me at (your favorite food place). She handed me my phone. I looked at my phone and I had 10 missed calls from Emilio. He started calling again.

"Hello? Emilio? Are you alright?"

"Y/N..."

"What's wrong babe?"

"I need you to come home right now?"

"Why? What happened?"

"Just come home."

"I'm at work Emi..."

"Please baby. It's an emergency."

"Oh okay. I'll be home in 20."

"Okay."

Emilio hung up the call. He didn't even say I love you to me. He always says it at the end of every one of our calls together....

I knocked on my managers door.

"Come in."

"Hey."

"Hey y/n, what do you need?"

"Can I go home early? It's a family emergency."

"Yeah, go ahead. I'll see you on sunday."

"Okay, thank you."

I walked in the house and I heard some talking in the kitchen. Before I walked in, I hid behind the wall.

"Okay, she's going to be home any second now. Let's do this."

Do what exactly?"

"Do you think she'll fall for it."

"Yeah, she'll probably cry when she sees my head. Thank god I didn't actually shave my head."

Is he trying to prank me?

"You should probably hurry and act like you have been crying."

Okay... I see what he's tryin to do. Two can play that game. I quietly walked back to the front door and opened it and slammed it shut.

"Emilio? Babe? Where are you?"

"In the kitchen."

I quickly walked in the kitchen. Ruben and Ivan were standing in front of Emilio.

"What's going on here?"

"Emilio should explain this to you."

"Why? What's-"

I stopped talking when Ruben and Ivan moved out of the way. I actually wanted to start laughing... But I didn't. I only wonted to laugh cause I knew this is a prank. I just got to play a long.

"Emilio... What's happened to your hair?"

I walked up to him. It actually looked like he has been crying. He's got great acting skills, I'll give him that.

"Ivan, Ruben, and I were messing around with fireworks and one blew up near me and caught my hair on fire. I had to go to the hospital."

I cupped his face.

"Awe, baby, you're okay right?"

"I'm fine now."

"I don't think I could do this."

"Do what?"

"Live with knowing that this whole thing was a prank."

I started smiling."

"What? What do you mean?"

"I knew this whole time. I heard you guys talking. If you want to prank me you should probably make sure I'm not in the house."

"Damn it."

I pecked Emilio on the lips.

"Nice try though."
