I wanted to make a chapter with very little of Ed thinking. Well, unless I wanted to make a very short chapter, it’d be okay. But I decided to make it a little longer. Mainly the beginning is just dialogue. Hope you like it.

“Wow, Ed, two days later and still no gigs. I’m starting to think you brought me here to seduce me.” Nina joked.

I stuffed my face with another bite of eggs and shook my head, “Maybe I did.” I had to give her props. Nina cooked spectacular food. “Maybe I brought you here for your cooking.”

She raised her eyebrows, “You’re a riot.”

Nina was right. Two days and still nothing was planned. Only forty eight hours had passed, but usually I had one or two things planned. The initial tour in which I only did small gigs was yet to start until a few weeks.

“I guess you could’ve stayed home for another few weeks.” I said.

She shrugged, “Doesn’t matter now. I guess I’m elated to be here.”

My phone rang. I slipped from the bar stool and slid it off the counter.

It was Kim. I dreaded to answer it, but I guess I had to. Hopeful it was her telling me Alice wanted me back. It was false hope I probably shouldn’t be wishing for in the first place. I should just get over it – but it’s too damn hard.

I lit a cigarette and answered.

“I’m glad I finally got ahold of you.” She said.

“Why’s that?” I answered, taking another drag of my cigarette and letting the smoke spill over my lip and end in waves.

“Well, I heard about you and Alice.”

“I think we have the same phone call every time this happens.” I joked. Nina glanced over at me and I shrugged, “I’m over it, though.”

“I just called to see what’s up. See if you moved on like she has.” Kim stated.

“She’s moved on?”

“Indeed.”

I laughed nervously, “How?”

“I called her and she told me about you guys breaking up, but she didn’t seem too down about it. She’s been seeing the same guy from her UNI.”

“Oscar?”

“Yeah, I think that’s his name.”

“She’s seeing Oscar?!” I repeated.

“Yeah. I guess they’ve been together for a while now. Maybe a little over three months.”

“What?”

“Supposedly, I heard they’re going on their first real date soon.”

“If they’ve been dating for over three months, they should’ve had their first date already.” I scoffed.

“No, she’s huge! Of course Alice doesn’t want to go anywhere when she’s about to pop-“

“Wait, did she have the baby?”
