Law and Love (Showki fanfic)

Ch.2: Day 1

Hyunwoo

Kihyun sticks out his hand for me to shake. I look at it with distaste, but shook it to keep up appearances or else Captain Park will never let me live it down. 

"I'm Detective Son Hyunwoo. Please take care of me too," I said while reluctantly adding the last part. 

"Get to know each other outside. I have a meeting to go too. Thanks to your dumb ass, Runt," Captain Park grunts before standing up.

~outside of Captain Park's office~

"Look. Just because we got assigned to be partners doesn't mean that we have to get along. Is that clear," I stated more than asked as I leaned against the wall. Kihyun snorts and pushes his glasses up before replying.

"I wouldn't imagine me trying to be your friend. As much as you don't want to be partners, I could say the same. I would rather not waste my breath talking to you," he huffs.

"Oh really? It seems that you are wasting it right now."

"Psh, you....Actually, I am not even going to bother to make a comeback. Moving on, we are going to be stuck with each other until this joint task force thing is over. So, just deal with it," he smirks before walking away.

"...that little shit," I cursed under my breath and went over to my desk.

"Hey, Hyung. Who's that? He be lookin' fine," says Changkyun after letting out a low whistle. 

"Someone that is going to be a pain in my ass," I sighed as I leaned back on my chair.

"Ew, keep it PG. Jooheon can hear you," Changkyun stage whispers.

"Ugh, why am I even friends with you two? And, no. I didn't mean in that way," I groaned as Jooheon started to make kissy faces. 

" You love us, Hyung," Changkyun laughs loudly. 

~the next day~

After visiting Officer Lee in the hospital, I tossed my long report detailing what I did wrong and that I would not do such a reckless thing onto Captain Park's desk and was about to leave.

"Wait, here is your first case. Go met Prosecutor Yoo at court, and then held over to the crime scene together," Captain Park grunts as he waves a file.

"Yes, sir."

~thirty minutes later~

~Seoul High Court~

"Hello, would you please tell me where Prosecutor Yoo Kihyun's office is,"  I asked the receptionist. 

"Ahh, do you have an appointment or...," she asked. So, I showed her my badge and she told me to go up to the fifth floor and it was the third door on my right in the hall to my left when I exited the elevator.

I read the name plates outside the door to make sure I was at the right place and was about to knock on the door when the door opens before my knuckles could touch it. Kihyun blinks several times before he frowns.

"Good morning," he says as he stepped out of his office not letting me in.

"Morning," I mumbled. 

"Ready for our first day," he asks as he readjusts his glasses on his nose before walking down the hall without waiting for my reply.

"As ready as I ever will be," I said under my breath as I took large strides to catch up with the prosecutor. He can walk fast for someone so small....
