Hyunwoo
After the other couple left, we made our way to the café that is adjacent to the rose garden. Everything inside the café was either white, red, or pink. There was a sign that says to sit down wherever we wanted and someone will come to your table to serve you. There was a table in the section where it was lit up by small twinkling lights like the ones you would find on Christmas day, but it had mini light bulbs. The table and the chairs was white. The mat under the pink rose centerpiece was red. I pulled out one chair and gestured for Kihyun to sit down.
He smiles and says in an amused tone, " What a gentleman."
"Thanks," I stammered and push in the chair as he sat down before going to the other side and taking a seat.
"Hello. Hello. Welcome to La Vie en Rose. I am Rosé. Is this your first time here," a dusty rose haired girl asks with a bright smile before placing menus in front of us.
"It is," I replied.
"Awesome. Well, almost every drink and dessert here has rose in it. The sandwiches, salads, soups, etc don't contain any rose in them," Rosé says.
"What would you recommend," Kihyun asks.
"Hmm, I would recommend the rose milk teas with our handmade rose tapioca pearls that are coated in honey, rose macaroons, and our house special sandwich," she replies.
"Hmm, that sounds delicious. I'll have an order of each," Kihyun says and hands his menu back to her.
"Awesome. And, what about you, sir," she asks Hyunwoo.
"I'll have a cup of fresh rose milk and basil popcorn chicken," he answers.
"Any desserts?"
"No, thank you. That would be all for me," I said with a small smile.
"Okay, then. I'll be back with your order soon," she says and gives us a polite smile before leaving to attend to other customers.
"So, roses...," Kihyun says in a questioning tone with an eyebrow raised.
"I found an ad for this place on social media and thought that it would be a good place for a date," I said hastily.
"Calm down. I wasn't trying to ask you why on earth did you bring me here. Anyhow, how was work while I wasn't there?"
"It was boring. The maknaes kept teasing me despite the fact that I tell them to knock it off. But, they know that I won't get mad at them so...yeah," I trialed off as I still felt annoyed by their teasing.
"Maybe, you should get mad," Kihyun suggests.
"Nah, it's okay. They are just being brats. No real harm done."
"Ah, I see," he chuckles lightly.
"Now that I think about it...you aren't wearing your glasses."
He subconsciously touches his temple and says, "Indeed, I must have left it at home. It's alright though. I can still see."
"Oh, have you ever considered wearing contacts?"
"Nah, I tried when I was younger and it would always take me a long time to put them in. And, even when I did manage to get them in, they felt uncomfortable," he says.
"Oh..."
"Why do you think I should wear them instead?"
"...I mean if you want too....I just think that....you have beautiful eyes."
