Hyunwoo

"Thank you for coming down so late at night, Mrs. Lee" Kihyun says.

"Ah, it's alright. This is nothing. If this can help you find the person who killed my husband, I am glad to have done it," she says as she got out of the chair. I opened the door and gestured for her to exit first. She thanks me before exiting the room. I waited for Kihyun to go through but he just stands there.

"You can go ahead," he says.

"But I-," I stammered as I am beginning to think that I did something wrong just now.

"You don't have to hold the door open for me," he says simply with a smol smile.

"I want too," I said.

"Hmm,  I guess 'chivalry' is not dead," he chuckles before exiting the meeting room.

"Yeah...," I said to no one in particular and exited the meeting room. Kihyun and I escorted her out of the building before walking back to the department.

"Shall we go arrest Lee Jin right now," he asks.

"We could wait until tomorrow...," I began to say when he looks at me with an unimpressed look on his face. "I mean yes, we should," I said slowly.

"Let's go," he says.

~at Lee Jin's house~

After knocking on his door three times, I shouted, "Lee Jin, it's Seoul PD. Open up." We waited for a few minutes and no one came to the door. I heard a gunshot rang out through the night. Kihyun and I looked at each other. I took out my gun and opened the door. "Stay behind me," I told him as I looked around for anyone suspicious and for Lee Jin with my gun at the ready.

I heard another sound coming from upstairs. I looked back at Kihyun to make sure that he was still there. He nods and then gestures upward. I nodded back in response before going up the stairs. When we got to the top of the stairs, there is a door open. The only source of light in the house was coming from that room.

We inched closer as stealthy as possible in hopes to not alert whoever was inside. When I was near the door, I tried to peer around the door to get a good look at what I was walking into. I could only see someone's bare feet. I took in a deep breath before kicking open the door. "Freeze, Seoul PD," I shouted as I aimed my gun.

But, there was no one holding a gun at me. I looked around and found Lee Jin on the floor bleeding. No gun in sight. "Oh, shit," Kihyun says behind me.

I went up to him and reached down to see if he was still breathing. His breath is thinning out. It was clear that he might not make it. I grabbed my phone and dialed 119. "Seoul PD, what is your emergency," the operator says.

"It's Detective Son Hyunwoo. I need a bus at 490 Kiseok Gil right now," I said into my phone.

"Copy, sending a bus right now," the operator says. I tossed my phone to the side and grabbed the throw blanket that was hanging off the bed and held it down on the gunshot wound.
