Kihyun

"Pity. You're missing out," he shrugs.

"Sure, I am," I said sarcastically.

"Cheh, save your sarcasm for someone else," he grumbles before continuing ask, "So, business?"

"Yes, business. I was wondering if you could 'work' your magic and get some information for me."

"My magic? My magic doesn't produce information but pleasure," he smirks and then winks at me.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes again at how greasy he was being before saying, "Get over yourself."

"Alright. Alright. I'll stop playing around. If you want my information, there is a price to be paid," he says with a knowing look.

"No discount?"

"For you? Let me think about it...ye- no," he says with attitude.

"Darn," I said flatly.

"What kind of information do you need?"

"The location of the Silver Roses' HQ," I said in a serious tone. His eyes widened in surprise before he school his facial features back into the playful and flirty version of himself.

"For that kind of information...it's going to be pricey. I don't know if you can afford it," he says before clicking his tongue three times.

"Name your price," I replied with an eyebrow raised. He brings his left index finger to my face and drags it down my right cheek.

"You," he smiles.

"...you had your chance," I said as firmly as I could but my voice cracked slightly thus betraying me.

"Don't you know the saying that everyone deserves a second chance," he asks as he places his left hand onto my left thigh.

~flash back~

~seven and half years ago~

~1:29 a.m.~

*knocking*

I groaned loudly as the noise had woken me up. I flipped over onto my stomach and ignored it.

*knocking continues but louder this time*

I sighed and decided to check it out. I throw off my blanket and walked to the front door. Before opening the door, I turned on the hallway light. When I opened the door, I was surprised to see Hoseok standing there with cuts and bruises. "Oh my god! Hyung, what happened to you," I asked and reached out to him. But, he steps back avoiding my hand. I paused and then retracted my hand.

"Let's break up, Kihyun," Hoseok says without looking into my eyes. He just kept staring at the ground.

"What?! What did you just say," I asked as I was taken by surprise by his words.

"Let's. Break. Up," he repeats after looking into my eyes for a few seconds before looking away.

"Explain yourself, Shin Hoseok," I said angrily as tears threaten to fall from my eyes.

"I'm sorry," he says simply and bites his busted lower lip.

"Say it to my face. And, then I will believe you," I shouted not caring if my shouting would wake up my neighbors.

"Kihyun...," he pauses before looking up into my eyes. "Let's end this," he stammers.

"End what? Our relationship?"

"Yeah," he stammers, which let me know that he is hiding something.

"You're not even going to give me a reason," I demanded. He doesn't respond and just stands there. A solid five minutes passed by before either one of us said something. Still, he doesn't respond. I sucked in a deep breath before nodding slowly.

"Fine. Don't say anything. Leave," I said slowly before taking off my promise ring and threw it at him. He flinches when the ring hit him on the chest but still doesn't say anything. I screamed out of frustration before going back inside and slammed the door closed.

Once it was closed, I leaned back onto my door and slid down to the floor. I brought my knees to myself and hid my face before I started to sob for the first time in a long time.

~end of flashback~

I didn't respond and just stared at him blankly. "You think that I wanted to break up with you," he says in disbelief written across his face.

"I don't know. You didn't want to tell me," I retorted.

"I didn't want to break up with you. My dad...my father...he threatened to kill you if I didn't go back home and take over the gang for him as his days were numbered. That's why I broke up with you," he pauses before continuing.  "Not to mention that, you were planning on becoming a prosecutor. Being in a relationship with a gang leader's son would only tarnish your reputation. I didn't want to hold you back," he shouts before dragging a hand through his obsidian black locks.

"Then, why didn't you come find me after he died?"

"I-....I was afraid."

"Afraid of what?"

"That you wouldn't love me anymore...after all the bad things I did since becoming the next leader..."
