Hyunwoo

~at Kihyun's apartment~

I raise my finger to press the doorbell. But, I hesitated. What if he doesn't want to see me? What if he doesn't like that I came unannounced? What if....Hyunwoo, you are here because you are worried about your boyfriend. You can show up out of nowhere in this kind of situation. Yeah, you can show up unannounced in this kind of situation. I took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell.

*shuffling from behind the door*

*a bang from behind the door*

*more shuffling*

*door opens*

A disheveled Kihyun opens the door. He squints at me and says, "Hyunwoo ssi..."

"Hi, I came over because you went MIA for some time and....Oh, and I got your address from your coworker...I brought some food," I rambled and held up the two bags of take out that I had bought before coming here. He stares at me like he was trying to figure me out or something.

"Oh...sorry. I should have told you. Come in," he says and opens the door wider. He is dressed in a deep red t shirt and a white pair of shorts. His flaming red hair now seemed dull as it is unkempt. He has dark circles and his cheeks seemed to be a bit sunken in. He lets go of the door and walks back into the apartment with no slippers. I walked in and shut the door behind me. After I took off my shoes,  I put on one of the guest slippers near the entrance. (A/N: In most Asian households, you need to take off your shoes before you enter a living space. It is optional to wear slippers tho). "Sorry about the mess," he says.

I looked around trying to find the mess to find nothing in disarray. I frowned slightly as the apartment wasn't messy at all...at least by my standards. I set down the bags on his   dark cherry wood table. "Nonsense. Your place is pretty neat. You should see mine," I chuckled trying to lighten the mood.

"Hmm, sure. I should get some bowls and chopsticks...," he trials off and tries to go to the kitchen.

But, I grab his wrist and said with a firm look when he looked back to see why he couldn't move, "Let me."

"But, you are the guest...," he says as he rubs at his eyes cutely and pouted unconsciously. Ugh, how can he be unintentionally cute?

"Yes, but I am your boyfriend," I said when I couldn't think of an excuse. Before he could continue to protest, I push him into a seat and said, "Wait here, I'll get everything ready."

"I really don't-"

"Sshh, I got this," I said and entered the kitchen. The cabinets match the dining room table. The counters were white marble with black linings. The sink was a farm sink. Everything in it was in place neatly excluding some empty but dirty dishes in the sink. I walked over to the dish rack and picked up a few bowls and two pair of chopsticks before going back to the dining room.

Kihyun is propping up his head with his right hand. His eyes blinking slowly like he was about to fall asleep. When I set the bowls and chopsticks done, he gets startled and sits up straight. "Gosh, Kihyun..ssi. Have you slept at all recently? What have you been doing these past few days?"

"I did sleep...like a few hours. I...have been working," he answers as he watches me plate the takeout.

"Working? Is it the case that you wouldn't tell me about?"

"Yes...thank you for the food and coming here," he says softly as he takes a pair of chopstick and uses it to eat a piece of jeon. After I plated the last item, I sat down in the seat to his left, and used the other pair of chopsticks to put food into his bowl. To my surprise, he doesn't protest and eats what I put in his bowl.

"No problem at all. I just wanted to make sure that you are okay...to see you," I said but muttered the last part.
