"What did you? The last part?"

"What part?"

"That part that you mumbled," he deadpans. 

"I didn't mumble," I scoffed and chewed on the jeon that I was eating nervously. 

"...you know that I can tell that you are lying, right?"

"I'm not lying."

"...that's what they all say," he says as he shakes his head.

"It's the truth," I rebutted his statement. 

"Mhmm," he says and looks at me with a knowing look. 

"I- I- Don't make this about me. I came here because of you," I stammered. 

"I suppose so...I'm fine as you can see," he says as his eyelids keep drooping. 

"I would like to believe that, but your body seems to beg to differ."

"Hmm, it seems like I am not as convincing as am I in court in real life," he mutters under his breath. 

"I am just stubborn. After you eat, let's get you to bed. I mean...ah... like you sleep and then I-," I panicked.

"Don't worry. I didn't misunderstand," he laughs softly. For the rest of the meal, we engaged in small talk and caught up. After it, I threw away the trash and washes the dishes despite Kihyun's protests. Then, I ushered him to his bedroom and made him lay in bed. I pull the blanket over him and literally uwued so hard at him rubbed his face against his pillow. 

I reach out to push some fiery strands back, but he opens his eyes just in time. I coughed awkwardly and immediately pulled my hand away. He smirks and shakes his head. I looked away to hide the blush that was starting to dust my cheeks and then I remembered the office that we walked by on the way to the bedroom. I saw a part of the wall covered in papers and photos with red string on pins . It was like the boards that we create for each case. I turned back to ask him if that was what he was, but he was asleep already. Light snores escape from his lips. I couldn't bare to wake him up to just satisfy my curiosity.
