Ch. 27: You

Kihyun

~that weekend~

~a park near Hangang~

  Grey, my Siberian husky puppy, ran up to me and licked my cheek before wagging his tail. I smiled at him and petting him between his ears. He lets out a smol bark and licks my fingers. I took out a small bright neon green tennis ball out of my pocket and held it in front of his face. 

"Ready, Grey? Go get it," I said and threw the ball. Grey immediately runs after it while yipping. He catches the ball and spins around in one motion before sprinting back to me. But, he drops the ball when he was half way to me. He nudges the ball with his nose before picking it up and made his way over to me. 

"Good boy~," I cooed. At that, he drops the  ball to the ground and barks softly all the while wagging his fluffy tail. His tongue lulls out of his mouth a bit which made him look like he was making a silly expression. I picked up the ball, held it out to him, and waved it before throwing it far. 

As I watched the ball sail through the air, I saw that it was heading start for someone who is running. I gasped and shouted, "Watch out!" The guy turns and opens his mouth to say something, but then he gets hit in the face with the ball.  I ran over to him and apologized while bowing to him. 

"Kihyun ssi?"

"Huh? How did you know my n-," I began to say as I straighten up. It was then when I noticed that it was Hyunwoo. My cheeks heated up from embarrassment. "Are you okay? I didn't mean to hit you. I was just playing catch with my dog," I stammered and gestured to the puppy who was now chasing a butterfly. 

"No worries. It didn't really hurt...Your dog is so cute. What's his or her name?"

"Grey," I said simply as I saw him running back over to me with the butterfly on one of his ears. He looks up at me with a smile as if he is trying to show off the new friend he made. " Grey, say hello," I said and made a gesture with my hand. He barks excitedly. 

"Wow, he is quite well trained for a puppy," Hyunwoo says and squats down to look at Grey. 

"He's a smart one," I said. Grey walks cautiously over to Hyunwoo. Hyunwoo holds out his hand for him to smell. Grey sniffs it for a few seconds before licking his fingers. Hyunwoo pets him on the head before standing up. Grey lets out an indignant bark which let me know that he wants to be picked up. So, I did. The gray and white husky puppy hides his face against my neck and huffs softly. 

"So, you have a dog," Hyunwoo says.

"Indeed. I adopted him from a coworker of mine whose dog had given birth to six puppies. He is the runt of the group. My coworker was like why would you want to adopt the runt. But like...," I started to ramble. When I realized that I was rambling, I bit my lower lip. "Sorry for blabbing on and on. I just really love dogs," I laughed awkwardly.

"No worries. I like to listen to people talk especially you," he says shyly.
