Ch. 79: Confession

Hyunwoo

~two hours later~

"Stop right there," I shouted as Kihyun and I began to chase down a thief who injured ten people with a large knife and stole their valuables at a liquor store.  We chased him down to a neighborhood where there are numerous alleyways. 

"Let's split up! I'll go around," Kihyun yells before taking a sharp right at the next opening. I nodded even though he wouldn't be able to see it and continued to run in the direction that I saw him run into. He looks over his shoulder to see if I was still chasing him. When he saw me, he curses and grabbed whatever he could get his hands on before throwing them at me.

I dodged most of them and jumped over the things that hadn't reach me but blocked my way. He reaches a two way split and skids to a halt. He looks both ways before taking the right path. Just as I turned the corner, I saw Kihyun come flying from out of nowhere and kick the suspect in the face. He changes from a flying jump kick to back kick which makes the suspect crash against the wall of a building on the other side.

Needless to say, I was astonished at this display of strength even though this was my second time seeing him fight. Just as I was within eight feet, the suspect gets up with an angry look on his face. He tosses the stuff he stoles onto the ground and yells before bringing his guard up, "Bring it."

Kihyun changes to a stance that I wasn't too sure of what the name was and made the come on gesture with his left hand. The suspect charges at Kihyun with his fist raised. Kihyun doesn't move out of the way, blocks his punch, and moves out of the way. I skidded to halt and wondered if I should stop this. 

The two didn't seem to notice that I was standing there and began to circle each other like two predators challenging each other. The suspect couldn't take it anymore and went to hit Kihyun. Kihyun moves out of way and gets behind him before doing a front kick to his back which made him stumble.

The suspect turns around with rage clearly on his face before launching his next attack. Kihyun blocks each blow with his forearms. Sometime later, Kihyun returns his punches by grabbing his right fist, and then pulled it down before using his left hand to push his right elbow into the suspect's jaw.

The suspect groans loudly as he stumbles backwards and was clearly disorientated by the blow that Kihyun just gave him. Kihyun seizes this chance and quickly pins him to the wall. Then, he turns back to look at me and says, "Well, what are you waiting for? Put the handcuffs on him and read him his rights." 

~back at the precinct~

After I sent the thief to be 'processed,' I went to the break room to get the first aid kit as Kihyun most likely sustained some injuries from the fight. When I entered, I found Kihyun sitting at the table with a big bowl of ice and a plastic bag in front of him. He looks up and sees me. "Did you turn him over," he asks.

"Yeah, the maknaes are taking care of him," I said as I came closer. I noticed that he had pushed up his sleeves and saw bruises on his forearms. "Holy shit, are you okay," I asked worriedly as I took a seat next to him. 

"I'll live," he laughs after examining the look on my face and then resumes putting some ice into the bag. I must have made a face afterwards as he goes on to say, "It really isn't as bad as it looks."

"It's not that. I should have stopped him and not let him hurt you...," I said as I felt bad for letting Kihyun get hurt.

"Hyunwoo, it's okay. I can hold my gro-," he says but I cut him off.

"I hate to see you hurting...," I said as I placed my right hand over his and squeezed lightly while looking into his honey brown eyes. He gawks at me for a few seconds before looking away with blush tinting his pale cheeks.
