Loki's nerves had begun to get the better of him as he paced up and down the floor of his chamber, he had to be even more careful now, trying to keep the crutches from making as little noise as possible as activity had grown throughout the halls of Asgard as preparations had reached maximum levels of activity. It was tomorrow. He wanted this more than ever but his heart had begun to betray him, wanting otherwise; screaming at him that this was not the right idea and that he shouldn't carry this out. His mind thought otherwise, he wanted this so much, he believed that beside Thor, this was the main reason he was back to good health so soon.
The door flew open and Thor rushed in, his cheeks red, it was obvious that he had been running. "I have an hour brother" Loki smiled and sat on his bed, he knew that now he could escape from reality and relax
For a little while. "I've missed you." He patted his bed and Thor walked over and slumped beside him, within seconds Loki felt warm and safe again, the terrors of what may unfold tomorrow wouldn't leave, but Thor's presence helped him forget. "Is there any way I can change your mind?" Loki sighed; he had explained to his brother many times that he couldn't back away from this. "You know the answer Thor, I can't, I won't." Thor smiled sympathetically and looked him straight in the eye, "If you can't be budged, then I have no choice but to wish you the best. Just don't get ahead of yourself when the time comes. But I will be there, for you." Loki smiled and looked down at his legs, fighting back tears which seemed desperate to escape the corners of his eyes. Thor seemed to pick up on this and put his mighty arm around his shoulder squeezing him close. "you'll be fine brother..."
It was obvious that neither of them actually believed this, as they were both just as nervous as the other.
