Chapter Three: Stubborn Family

Emma's pov
𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟓

" Emma !"

 At the mention of my name, I turned and looked over seeing my father jog into the room with a bewildered face. A ambulance rushed both Tyler and I to a near by hospital and Bella never left my side through any of it. I knew the EMT's and nurses's are annoyed with her constant questions and I was annoyed how every five minutes, she kept quizzing me on things to see if I was losing it.

" Are you okay?"

I nodded," Yes."

Charlie saw Tyler getting his head stitched and glared at the boy," You and I are gonna talk."

" I'm fine dad, calm down." I pleaded, but knew how worried Charlie must have been seeing the nurse clean the wound on my head." It really was an accident and plus, I'm perfectly fine"

Tyler nodded his head." I'm sorry Emma, I tried to stop."

" I know, it's okay-"

" Em, you could have been killed by him." Bella snapped which added to Charlie's anger. 

I could sense it and see the anger in his face. I understood why, but he didn't have to be upset. I was alive and very well and anyone would of panicked as well.

" No, it sure as hell it's not okay."

I shook her head." Dad, it wasn't his fault. It was an accident. Some Ice and panic."

" You could've been killed. You understand that?"

" Yes, but I wasn't." I pointed out seeing the nurse was done cleaning the wound and placed a big bandage over it.

" You can kiss your license goodbye." Charlie said making Tyler groan in both fear and disappointment. I felt bad and shook my head to Tyler wanting to calm his nerves down a bit.

" I heard the Chief's daughter was in." A man announced walking through the double doors with a bright smile. 

" Oh, Dr. Cullen."

" Cullen?" I questioned looking to the doctor, who had a friendly smile on his lips.

"Charlie." He greeted turning to the nurse by my side." I got this one, Jackie. So, Emma."

" Yes." She said with a smile knowing it was Edward's dad. 

The hot doctor Jessica, Claire, and Angela talked when I met the kids. For an adoptive dad, how come they have the same eyes?

" Well, looks like it's a quiet spill. How do you feel?"

" Good. Perfectly fine." I stated, but Bella and Charlie has other ideas.

"Look here." He said pointing a flashlight in my eyes." You might experience some post-traumatic stress or disorientation, but your vitals are good."

Bella gasped," So, should I watch her."

" Bella-"

" Like signs that she is hurt or becoming hurt." Bella continued.

" No signs of any head trauma. I think she'll be just fine. Sisters?"

" Twins." We answered at the same time before looking at each other with a smile.

" I'm so sorry Emma, I'm really-" Tyler was saying, but Charlie pulled the curtain making me playfully glare at him.

" It would have been a lot worse."

" Yeah, almost like someone was there to save me." I hinted seeing Dr. Cullen expression harden a bit." Edward's your son right? He knocked me right out the way."

" Edward? Your boy?"

" Yeah, he saved me."I replied nodding my head with a smile." He's a hero."

" Sounds like you were very lucky." Dr. Cullen said while I smiled, but I had a feeling something was in play. I could see his slight fear." Charlie."

" Bye."

" Bella, I swear I can walk. No broken bones." I said walking out of the emergency room while she held my waist for dear life.

" I'm making sure. What if you faint? What if you go into a coma out of no where? What if a van hits your right now?"

" We're in a building!" I pointed out. " Dr. Cullen said I am fine. Believe him for the sake of both our health's. Last thing Dad needs is for you to have a heart attack."

Bella tilted her head," You look a bit pale. Maybe he should look at you again."

" Bella!" Emma laughed, but when they both turned, they saw the Cullen's staring at them. Emma looked right to Edward with a unsure smile." Can I talk to you for a minute?"

" Rosalie." Carlisle said taking Edward's sister with him.

The blonde looked furious narrowing her eyes at me as she left until Carlisle squeezed her shoulders to look away. I looked over to Bella seeing she nodded before leaving and I thanked the heavens above that she finally listened to me.

Edward walked over with an annoyed face," What ?"

" How did you get over to me so fast?"

" I was standing right next to you, Emma."

" That's bullshit." I cursed quickly." I know how everything played out. Even if it did give me whiplash. You were next to your car. Across the lot with your siblings."

" No, I wasn't."

" Yes, you were. You know you were. I don't get why you're lying to me." I said defensively.

Edward looked down at me before looking around," Emma, you hit your head. I think you're confused. Why don't you go home and lay down?"

" Gaslighting? Is that what we're doing now?" I snapped." I know what I saw, Edward."

" What exactly was that ?"

" You stopped the van." I responded." You pushed it away with your hand and you saved me."

" Well, nobody's gonna believe you, so-"

" You really think I would tell someone?" I asked a bit hurt and offended. His smile dropped a bit while he looked at me." I don't know how you did it, but whatever it is, it saved my life. All I'm looking for is the truth. I see that's hard for you."

" Can't you just thank me and get over it?"

" Sure, thank you, jackass for saving my life. If it makes you so annoyed, next time let the damn thing kill me." I said giving him a glare before leaving. 

The nerve of that kid.

Emma was sleeping peacefully, but her dreamed were filled with Edward saving her. Small flashbacks echoed in her mind and she kept seeing the dent Edward made into the side of Tyler's van. She opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was Edward Cullen staring at her from across her room. He was wearing the same clothes he was when he went to the hospital which confused her.

" Edward ?" She questioned a bit groggy and went to turn on her light, but he was gone. She looked around the room seeing he was no where around except the light movement of her curtain since the window was left opened. Emma got up and slammed it shut before locking it.

" Em ?" She heard and turned to see her sister at the door a bit worried." Are you okay ?"

" Yeah, I just..." She was saying, but she chose to ignore it. It was just a stupid dream." I just closed my window. That's all."

" Okay, just checking."

" Okay." Emma said seeing her sister yawn before closing the door.

Emma looked back outside seeing the bush rustle a bit. She walked back to her bed, turning the light off, but it did take her a while to fall back asleep.
