Chapter Twenty Eight: Volturi

Third person pov
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟰𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲

Emma was nervous walking downstairs and following the members of the Volturi, but like any obstacle in her life, she showed no fear. She just curled her fist and followed along seeing behind her was Alice and next to her was Edward. He reached for her hand, but she pulled away still a bit upset.

" Are you scared ?" Edward asked and Emma laughed loudly not keeping her voice low when she said.

" No. I might be human, but I'll still sock the crap of of these vampires if they piss me off."

" That's my girl." Edward said making her smirk. They all packed into an elevator with one of the vampires staring into Emma's soul. She felt the eyes and turned around glaring at him.

" Is there a problem ?" She asked and it was Edward's turn to smirk since she said the same thing to him not long ago when she moved to Forks. The doors opened, so they all stepped out. A women stood from her desk saying something in Italian." Is she human ?"

"  Yes."

" Then why would...She wants to be one."

" And so she will be."

" For dessert !" Jane said opening twin doors to see a large room with thrones sitting in front. Emma's eyes wondered around and she remembered the painting from her birthday. It was exactly the same.

" Sister, sent you out to get one and you bring back two. And a half. Such a clever girl."

" What a happy surprise !" A man said with an awkward hair do and red eyes that seemed to burn her a bit. He smiled, but she did not. She looked unimpressed." Emma is alive after all. Isn't that wonderful ? I love a happy ending. They are so rare. La Tua Cantante. Your blood appeals to you so much it makes me thirsty."

" Not the first time I heard that." Emma remarked still unimpressed and crossed her arms over her chest looking to Aro holding Edward's hand.

" How can you stand to be so close to her ?"

" It's not without difficulty."

" Yes, I can see that."

" Aro can read every thought I ever had. With one touch." Edward said looking over to Emma before taking his hand away from him." And now you know everything. So, get on with it."

" You're quite soul reader yourself, Edward. Though you can't read Emma's thoughts. Fascinating ! I would love to see if you are an exception to my gifts, as well. Would you do me the honor ?"

" Usually, I let the guy take me to dinner, but." Emma said and held her hand out rolling her eyes. Aro's cold hand went around her's and she waited for him to say something. Say how she hasn't stopped thinking about Edward or when he left.

" Interesting. I see nothing. I wonder if...Let's see if she is immune to all our powers. Shall we, Jane ?"

" No !"

" Pain." Jane said and Edward stopped in pain.

Emma looked between the two and gasped before looking over to Aro." Stop it ! He didn't do anything !"

" Jane ?"

" Master ?" Jane said blinking. Emma looked down to Edward seeing the pain start to disappear. Aro smiled seeing the love before turning to Jane.

" Go ahead, my dear." Aro commanded. Jane smiled also and looked over to Emma.

" This may hurt just a little." Jane said before her smile dropped and she focused on Emma waiting for her to tremble with pain, but Emma just glared at her. Nothing was happening. Emma felt fine and she was just glaring back at Jane.

Aro clapped his hand making the two of them look back." Remarkable! She confounds us all. So, what we do with you now ?"

" You already know what you're going to do, Aro." A man said still sitting in his seat and the one also sitting in his seat nodded.

" She knows too much, she's a liability."

" That's true." Aro agreed before glaring." Felix ?"

" No !" Edward yelled getting off the ground and flipping her over so she was behind him. She looked confused not knowing what to say. Edward came full force and took Felix down. Emma turned around about to ask Alice for help, but she saw her in a choke hold. Felix kicked Edward back before zooming and crashing him to the floor where it broke.

Felix got back up and walked right towards Emma. She didn't show no fear. She glared while moving little steps backwards. Edward got back up and tackled him, but Felix stopped the tackle and threw Edward towards a chair which Felix punched through. Both men moved so quickly, it was almost impossible for Emma to keep up. She only panicked when Edward was on his knees like they were going to kill him.

" No ! Kill me ! Not him." She yelled causing everyone to freeze. She glared to him before moving her hair to the side." I'll keep your secret and everything. Just don't harm the Cullens."

Aro walked down the stairs slowly in shock." How extraordinary. You would give up your life for someone like us."

" Not you. For him and only him." Emma corrected glaring at Aro.

" A vampire. A soulless monster."

" Just get away from him !" Edward said, but Emma did not listen.

She stood her ground and only looked to the devil named Aro. " You're wrong. You're so fucking wrong. He's not a soulless monster. You are. Everyone one of your kind is soulless, but him. But the Cullens."

" This is a sadness. If only it be your intention to give her immortality." Aro said walking towards Emma ready to end her human life.

" Wait !" Alice called out making everyone turn to her." Emma will be one of us. I've seen it. I'll change her myself."

Alice walked over and gave her hand to Aro. What he saw was Emma looking into the woods and up at the sun. Edward came next to her saying something and when he looked over to her, her eyes were red and her skin shining. Someone called them and they turned around.

" Mesmerizing ! To see, what you have seen. Before it is happened. Your gifts will make for an intriguing immortal. Emma. Go now. Make your preparations." Aro said turning so Felix could release Edward.

" Let's be done with this. Heidi will arrive, any moment." The man said while Edward walked over to Emma and held her close. She, with her eyes, asked if he was okay and he nodded before turning." Thank you for your the visit."

" We'll return the favor. I would advise that you follow through on your promise soon. We do not offer second chances."

" Goodbye my young friends." Aro said when the doors closed. They were back in the halls and Emma couldn't believe it. So many things were running through her head. A women came with tourist behind her looking around the place amazed.

" Nice fishing, Heidi."

" Yes, they do look rather juicy." The girl sneered.

" Save some for me."

" This way, please. Stay together." The women said having the people follow her. It wasn't long before Emma heard them scream and she turned walking to help, but Edward and Alice held her back. She couldn't ignore their screams getting louder and louder and louder.
