Chapter Twenty One: Everyone Acts Weird

Emma, Bella, and Jacob all sat in the orange pick-up truck heading to try to bikes out. Jacob smiled a bit looking to the girls before looking back down to his feet.

" If I told you, I couldn't have fixed these bikes, what would you say ?"

" Are you doubting your mad skills ?" Bella asked looking over to him with a smile.

" No, definitely not. I mean, they're all fine. It's just...May be if I was smarter would have dragged out to rebuild them."

" If you told me, you couldn't fix these bikes." Emma said looking to him with a smile before looking back to the road." I would say that that's really too bad, but we're gonna find something else to do together."

" Is that Sam Uley ?" Bella asked making them look over to see on a mall cliff was a group of shirtless boys.

" Yeah, and his cult."

" Oh, my God !" Emma said slamming on the brakes when she saw then throw one of the boys off a cliff. She got out the car going to the edge of the little highway." Call 911."

" They're not really fighting, Emma. They're cliff diving. Scary as hell, but a total rush."

" Rush ?"

" That actually looks so cool." Emma said looking amazed. Bella smiled next to her and nodded her head.

" It looks fun."

" Fun ? Bella, you threw up on a small roller coaster. There's no way you would cliff dive." Emma said with a laugh not seeing Bella's upset face when she said that. Jacob came over to the girls nodding his head to the people.

" Most of us jump from lower down. We'll leave the showing off to Sam and his disciples."

" Is some kind of beef with them or something ?" Bella asked walking back to the truck with Emma right behind her.

" Oh, no. They just think they run this place. Embry used to call them hall monitors on steroids. Now, look at him."

" That's Embry ?" Emma said looking back a bit shocked seeing he ditched his long hair for a shorter do." What happened to him ?"

" He missed some school and all of a sudden started following Sam around like a little puppy. Same thing with Paul and Jared. Sam keeps giving me this look like he's waiting for me or something. It's kinda starting to freak me out."

" Well, you should just avoid him.

" I'll try. Okay." Jacob said looking to Bella with a smile. The three got back into the truck and made it to where they can test out the bikes. Emma sat on one looking a little nervous." You look scared."

" I'm not. Shut up, Jake."

" Alright, I was kidding. Brake. Clutch. Good. Gas." He said seeing Emma got every button on the bike right. He smiled moving himself and Bella out the way." Ready ? Now slowly... release the clutch."

" Woah !" Emma said by accident hitting the wrong button. Jacob caught her arm before she could go with a slight laugh.

" You alright there?"

" Yes, Jake. I think your the scared one."

" Maybe you shouldn't, Emma." Bella said and when the both of them looked over, they saw Bella biting her lip and crossing her arms.

" Never mind. Bella takes the cake."

" I'm serious, Em. What if something bad happens ? What if you die ?"
