Emma's pov

I walked into the lunch room and the first eyes I met was Edward. He saw me too and dropped his food in disgust, but I could care less rolling my eyes and walked over to my lunch table seeing Claire was talking to Bella while both eating their lunch. I placed my bag on the table catching Eric's attention.
" Hey! La Push, baby...Are you in?"
I frowned." Should I know what that means or is it some king of Forks slang?" I asked sitting seeing Bella and Claire with lit up eyes.
" Claire and I were just talking about that. La Push is a Beach down the Quileute Rez."
" We're all going tomorrow."
" Yeah, there's a big front coming in." Jessica added.
I liked the idea of going to the beach even if it was the middle of winter still. A beach and a small get away was on my bucket list and after the weeks I've been having, I could use some fun.
" Seems fun. I'll join."
" And I don't just surf the Internet." Eric teased while Jessica rolled her eyes.
" Eric, you stood up once and it was a foam board."
Angela ignored the two and smiled to me," There's whale watching too. Come with us."
" La Push, baby. It's...La Push." Eric said causing me to laugh at his accent he gave to the name.
" I'll go if you stop saying that, okay? Makes it seem mysterious."
Claire nodded." Emma is right."
" Seriously dude... It's creepy, man."
" I'm gonna get my lunch." I laughed getting out of my seat feeling my stomach growl a bit.
" Give me your juice if you don't want it!" Claire shouted causing me to laugh while reaching for a tray and looking to see all the food.
" Hey." I heard and jumped which caused me to drop my apple, but luckily Edward bounced it off his foot and into his hand perfectly. I playfully glared at him before taking the apple and shining the dust off with my shirt." Emma."
" Weirdo." I answered turning around and going to get some dressing." I see Carisle still didn't give you bi-polar medication, Like serious your mood swings are kind of giving me a whiplash over here."
" I only said it'd be better for you if we weren't friends, not that I didn't want to be."
I laughed frowning," What the hell is that suppose to mean?"
" It means, if you're smart, you'd stay away from me."
" Well, let's say for argument sake that I'm not smart." I said looking up to him seeing today his eyes were black. What a shame." Will you tell me truth? Hell, I'll even go blonde to prove."
" No, probably not. I'd rather hear your theories."
" Well." I said biting into my apple before looking to him." My theory is you act like you're the Winter Solider or Loki because your some misunderstood person. Like them, you're more then evil and mystery. Am I right?"
" That's all super-hero stuff, right?" Edward asked seeing I nodded." What if I'm not the hero? What if I'm...The bad guy? What if I hurt you Emma?"
My eyes soften a bit and I shrugged my shoulders." You're no bad guy, Edward. You're just confused. I can tell. Sadly it has to do with me and maybe I will never understand that. What you need to know is whatever it is that your so afraid of me knowing, I can handle it. I'm no chicken and I don't judge. I can see what you're trying to put off, but I can see that it's just to keep people away from you. That's a mask. I should know. I had one when my parents got divorced." I said mixing my dressing up while he just watched me.
