Chapter Thirty One: Apologies

Third person pov
𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟔

" Dad has me looking at the University of Washington. Can you believe it ?" Bella groaned sitting on Emma's bed while flipping through college papers. Emma sat across from her, but stared out the window not really hearing what she had to say." I don't know I been thinking lately. Maybe I don't even want to go to college ? I made it this far and-" Bella looked up from the papers to see what her sister was doing and grabbed a pillow throwing it.

" Ow, Bella."

" Did you hear one word I said ?" Bella asked. Emma looked in defeat because there was no way he could prove she was listening.

" Sorry."

" Why are you staring out the window ? You're looking at it like he's going to pop up."

" That's the thing. I don't want him to." Emma muttered folding a college brochure. Bella looked at her curious which made her roll her eyes." We got in an argument."

" About ?"

" Jacob. He doesn't want me over there cause he fears the wolves would hurt me. I got mad and said, You won't let me see my best friend, but you'll leave me almost for a year with two vampires on my tail."

" Damn."

" I don't care. It's true." Emma argued seeing Bella agreeing with her.

" I think your right. Jacob does that to me too. It's stupid. Edward would never hurt me because I'm your sister and Jacob would never hurt you because of the same reason."

" Men."

" Annoying, but then it has me thinking." Bella said having Emma look over to her." It might be out of fear, but they want nothing bad to happen to us. If it was the other way around, I was the werewolf, and Jacob was the human, I think I would be the same way."

" You have a point." Emma said when something jumped on the window. Bella gasped loudly while Emma just stood where she was seeing it was Edward. He climbed through the window and smiled lightly over to her seeing her straight face.

" Hey."

" Hi." Emma said seeing Edward looked to what was behind her.

" Bella ?" He asked and Emma turned to see Bella holding a scrunchies ready to fling it at him. Emma scoffed and stood up.

" A scrunchies ? A vampire is coming at us and you grab a scrunchies ?"

" It was the first thing next to me !"

" Maybe, Jacob does have to watch you." Emma said before grabbing her bag and walking downstairs to leave for school. She opened her truck when Edward appeared in front of her.

" I'll take you to school."

" I rather go with Bella."

" Emma, please." Edward begged and she groaned. When she heard the front door close again, she turned and threw the keys to Bella.

" Fine." She said and got inside his Volvo. She didn't talk the whole way there. Just stared out the window watching Forks zoom by since Edward was going 100 mph in a 70 mph zone. When they got to school, Edward parked the car, but when Emma was about to leave, he locked the doors. She looked over to him seeing him stare straight." You wanna piss me off and make me late for class ?"

" Emma, you have to understand why I won't let you there. The wolves, their dangerous. Maybe not as dangerous as me-"

" You're not dangerous." She clarified.

" Yes, I am, but I love you so much that I can restrain myself from harming you. The wolves can't. I don't want them to kill you. I can't let that happen."
