Chapter Fifty Four: To The Bone

I held on tightly to the back of Jacob's motorcycle coming back from our little date. Billy offered to watch Leo giving us the alone time to have lunch. I missed these moments always either planning our wedding, helping Emma plan hers, or changing a diaper. Billy's house came into view and I smiled already wanting to have my son back in my arms. He could be a hustle to take care of, but I'm the end I always needed my little booger. I got off the bike and walked hand in hand with Jacob inside hearing voices that were more than just Billy. My eyes landed on a set of far brown hair and I frowned at the arrival of my father.

" Dad ?" I questioned seeing he turned around with Leo in his arms.

" Hey Bells, how was lunch ?"

" Great. What brings you here ?" I asked and he shrugged his shoulders looking down to Leo.

" I wanted to visit my grandson and let you know something." He said causing me to feel nervous already." Your sister caught a small bug on her trip. She said it's nothing to worry about. Blames Edward's chicken."

" She's sick." Jacob hissed and I turned to him knowing he was thinking she already turned.

There was no way. Emma had promised me we would get a proper goodbye when she decided to turn and at her wedding was not a proper one.

" She told me not to worry, but she sounded weak." Charlie went on to say adding more and more anger onto Jacob.

I picked up Leo from Charlie' arms knowing we were leaving soon. I could sense it from Jacob's face that he wanted to leave.

" She'll be okay, Charlie." Sue spoke from the kitchen." Come on. Let's eat."

My eyes studied Jacob seeing the worry and anger. He turned around heading for the door, but Billy had grabbed his arm stopping him from coming on any further.

" Jacob." He warned, but Jacob bad shrugged him off heading for the door.

" He's just worried." I mumbled picking up the baby bag from the table and leaving after him." Jacob !"

" They turned her."

" No they didn't. Emma promised me she wouldn't turn without saying goodbye to me." I argued when he turned around glaring at me.

" And who's to say that Cullen didn't bite her !" He yelled that Leo started to curl up in my arms afraid." I'm sorry, buddy."

" We need to be calm." I instructed looking up to his eyes." Let's head to the Cullen's and see what's going on. I'll take the car."

I didn't give him much room to argue already heading over to the car and strapping Leo safely into his seat. He smiled at me and I smiled back, but I had a terrible feeling something was wrong with Emma. I started the car and followed Jacob's lead trying to think of what could be wrong with her. Edward was a vampire. Maybe he really didn't know how to cook chicken and she really did get a small food bug. Maybe she ate some bad food on the island and got sick.

Maybe she did turn into a vampire...

I gripped the stirring wheel tighter trying to focus on my son's baby noises behind me, but nothing could make me shake off the fear that something was wrong. The Cullen's house came into view and I gulped wanting to hear the best from them. Jacob parked the bike quickly already making his way up the driveway. I quickly ran out of the car unbuckling Leo and sprinted after him seeing Carlisle already at the door.

" Is it true ?" Jacob questioned the minute Carlisle had opened the door.

" Hello Jacob. Bella."

" Carlisle, we heard Emma had a stomach bug. Please, is she okay ?"
