" The Volturi are a very old, very powerful family." Edward said while he stood in Carlisle's office with Emma staring at the picture frame. She wore a beautiful Tulle Mini Prom Dress With Ribbon Ties. The dress was beautiful on Emma and Alice was right, she loved it." I guess, the closest thing to royalty my world has."

" Is that Carlisle in the painting ?"

" Yeah. He lived with them for a few decades. Described them as very refined. No respect for human life, of course, but respect for the arts and science as at least and the law above all of law."

" Seriously ? Vampires have laws ?"

" Not very many. There's only one and it's regularly enforced." Edward said seeing the curious mind Emma had." You want to know, don't you ?"

" Yes, please."

" To keep the existence of our kind a secret. We don't make spectacles of ourselves, and we don't kill conspicuously. Unless, of course, you want to die."

" We have to talking about that by the way. I can't even think about someone hurting you. Believe me. Just because you thought I was a goner, you were about to end your life ?"

" Emma, the only thing that can hurt me is you and I don't have anything else to be afraid of."

" That's not true. Victoria ? She will come for me one day. We both know this." Emma said staring at him to see his fear flash before his eyes or something.

" Alice will see when she decides and we will be ready."

" Can you do me one favor ? Please ?"

" Sure." He said seeing her face a bit serious. She bit her lip a bit. A nervous habit she realized she had.

" If I do ever die as a human, you can't just kill yourself. It's not right. You have a lot to live for. Your family needs you. I'm just saying this because I want to protect you."

" Emma, you already do protect me. You're my only reason to stay alive, if that's what I am." Edward said seeing she nodded her head a bit sadly." If your dead, then so am I. You can't fight me on it cause you'll be gone, but it's my job to protect you. From everyone except my sister."

" It's time !" Alice sang coming into the room which made Emma smile seeing the little vampires behavior." It's time ! It's time ! It's time !"

Emma came into the room and smiled seeing what Alice done for her. It was a little gathering with only the Cullen's, but it was enough for Emma, she just wished Bella could be here. The place was decorated with roses's and sunflowers. Her favorite. Edward must have told Alice.

" Sorry about all this. We tried to rein Alice in."

" Like it's even possible."

" No, this is amazing. Beautiful actually. Thank you so much." Emma said turning around and giving Alice a big hug. Alice smiled and turned to her sister.

" You first, Rosalie."

" It's a necklace." Rosalie said handing Emma a present with a smile." I was gonna get you perfume as a joke, but Alice almost beat me for it."

" That would of been a funny joke. Thanks." Emma said hugging Edward next to her when Alice snapped a photo blinding her a bit." Thanks, Alice."

" Had to get the love. This is from Emmett."

" Already installed it in your truck. Finally, a decent sound system for that piece of-"

" Hate the truck and I'll run you over with it." Emma said making Rosalie laugh and slap Emmett's chest.
