Emma's pov

The next day, I placed my best acting in front of my family. I started off with waking up and acting like I was not feeling good which wasn't a total lie. I was nervous and it caused my stomach to hurt a bit. I was nervous what Edward would do when he found out that I knew he was a vampire. I remembered at the diner he said he was protective with me, but that was way before I knew his secret.

Bella was the first to be concern. She believed the lie and thought maybe I was sick due to the accident that didn't happen long ago. I was quick to say it might be a bug. I drove the both of us to school since I had to get my mind off of everything by sticking to the road, but that didn't even help. I was fearful, yet it wasn't due to the idea that Edward could kill me for knowing. I couldn't put her finger on it, but I just knew she was fearful.

" Emma !" Bella yelled making me slam on the brakes seeing I almost ran a red light." Em, what happened?"

" Nothing. Are you okay?"

" Yes. I'm more concerned about you." Bella said while I faced forward and began to drive again. When we got to school, I looked in the rearview mirror seeing the Cullen's were not there yet.

" Wow. Bella, I'm really not feeling good."

" Want me to call Charlie?"

" No, just go inside. Maybe I'll go home. Let me just stay here for a bit." I said seeing Bella's unsure face." Go. I'll be fine. I promise."

" Okay." Bella said and left inside with Jessica and Angela, who also came to school the same time.

I waited. My nerves jumping rapidly looking from one person to the other waiting for him. My mind yet again causing me to worry and fright. That's when I saw him from the corner. He looked at me and had a small smile, but I did not return it. I walked forward and passed him going to the woods.

My mind was screaming at me. Why go into the woods?! Have you not seen a horror movie?! This is where girls like you die! No matter how much I screamed in my mind, I kept walking. I stopped when I got to an opening and heard him stop walking also.

" You kept lying to me...and I now know why you did it. I just can't believe that you're impossibly fast." I started off with hating how my voice sounded so scared.

I didn't know why I was scared. It was Edward after all. The sweet, yet rude boy I met not to long ago that is a mystery.

" And strong." I continued." I get why your skin is pale white and ice cold and why your eyes change color. Even to the point on why you sometimes speak like you're from a different time. How old are you?"

" Seventeen."

" No, how old are you, not your body?" I asked not liking when he said nothing. The air was tense and I swore the metaphor when a knife could cut it was happening at the moment.

" A while."

" Then I know what you are."

" Say it. Out loud." Edward said yet I did not want to.

My new fear was that I was wrong and if I did say it, he would laugh and I would look like a fool. Maybe it was wrong to say it. Maybe I was just a delusional girl with fantasy problems.

" Say it!"

" Vampire."

I gasped slightly when I said it shocked that it even came out my mouth. Yet again a new fear came up. The laughing part. The one where I will look like an idiot, but his next question was even more shocking.
