Chapter Eleven: A Human Plays Vampire baseball

" Hey, I got you another one."

" Thanks." Charlie said in the dining room with Bella. She handed him a beer and sat down doing her weekend homework. Emma came down the stairs and nervously looked to her family members. Bella caught the way her sister was acting and looked at her with a face that said ' What's going on'

"I have a date with Edward Cullen."

" No way. Really ?" Bella beamed shocked yet unbelievably happy for her. Emma nodded her head before looking to her father.

" He's a little old for you, isn't he ?" Charlie said making Bella laugh and lightly slap his arm.

" Dad, it's not the time to be protective. Anyway, he's a junior, I'm a junior. I thought you liked the Cullen's anyway ? It's not a problem right ?"

" I thought you didn't like any of the boys in town."

" Edward doesn't live in town technically." Emma said before nervously looking to them once again." He's right outside."

" He is ?"

" Yeah, he wanted to meet you. Officially."

" That's so sweet." Bella said looking to her father with eyes that begged for him to allow Edward in to meet them. She knew how much this mean't to her sister.

" Alright." He said cocking his gun which caused Bella and Emma to jump from the thought and sound of it." Bring him in."

" Dad, please don't kill him." Emma begged while Charlie pretended to make motion of a halo. She nodded going outside and opening the door for Edward while Bella slapped her dad's arm again with a laugh to stop. Edward and Emma came into the room making the two straighten up.

" Chief Swan. I want to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward Cullen."

" Hi, I'm Bella. It's nice to finally meet you. I was beginning to think my sister was to scared to bring you around."

" Bella." Emma said through her teeth which made Edward snicker a bit. Charlie was still leaned in his chair not much amused.

" Hi, Edward."

" Emma, won't be out too late tonight. She's just gonna play baseball with my family."

" Baseball ? Just know whoever's team she's on is going to win." Charlie said causing a smile to play on Emma's face.

" I'll take good care of her, I promise."

" Hey." Charlie called out making Emma look up. Edward smirked while leaving so she could be alone with her father." You still got that pepper spray ?"

" Really, dad." She said with a laugh before leaving. She went outside with a smile seeing Edward leaning against his car.

" That went better then my family."

" Stop being mean to your family." She said while Edward put a cap on her head still smiling from what she said." Since when do vampires like baseball ?"

" Well, it's the American pastime and there's a thunderstorm coming. It's the only time we can play. You'll see why." Edward said with a mysterious smile. He drove the both of them to an open field that had his whole entire family. She smiled getting out the car and walking over. Even more when Edward reached over and held her hand.

" I'm glad you're here. We need an umpire." Esme said with a beautiful smile while Emmett came up to Emma.

" She thinks we cheat."
