Chapter Forty Five: Storm

Emma's pov
𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟔

" You're going overboard."

It was the day before the battle and I felt every single nerve in my body stand from just how nervous I was. I packed endless warm clothing into my bag hearing Edward laugh behind me. It was easy for him to say. It could be hot or cold and he would still feel like it was room temperature. I zipped my bag tightly and slung the strap over my shoulder before turning to see the smirk on his face.

" It's not really for me. More for Bella." I argued walking pass him and down the stairs seeing some of my camping stuff ready to be placed in his Jeep." I can adapt to the weather, but Bella is a different case. While Jacob is hunting, she'll be cold."

" You do know you need heat too. I can't-"

" Provide it, I know." I replied turning to see the guilt in his face. Ever since Alice told him a storm was coming, he kept buying heating packs and blankets." You don't have to worry about me. I packed all warm and extra stuff."

" Still, I can't do anything." He argued picking up my bag from the floor to take to the Jeep. I watched him zoom back in front from the house taking my things before I locked the door since Bella was at the field and Dad was at work.

" Charlie won't even know I was here." I announced placing my keys in my pockets and getting into his Jeep. He started it imminently before taking off towards the mountain side since Bella, Jacob, and Jasper were waiting for us." Okay, so the plan is Jacob carries Bella to the meeting point and you'll be there with her while Jasper watches me. Then when Jacob comes back, he'll take me and I'll be with you. Got it ?"

" Why are you telling me this ?"

" I don't know. I just feel like you would be the type to break the rules."

He laughed reaching for my hand." Emma, have you met you ?"

I laughed myself before looking down to my hand seeing the beautiful diamond ring on my finger. I still couldn't get over that he proposed. That I was going to get a happily ever after and call him mine officially. It was just going to be us. After today there would be no more James. No more Laurent. No more Victoria. We got to the meeting point faster then I had thought was manageable. Jasper stood in the field alone before turning to see us.

" Took you guys long enough. Bella and Jacob are on their way."

" Okay. Sorry it took so long. Someone here was going only one hundred miles per hour." I teased seeing how awkwardly Jasper glanced to Edward before looking to me." Is everything okay ?"

" Yes." He replied nodding his head side to side." Any, uh, news."

" She said yes Jasper." Edward answered. I frowned at Edward until I was crushed into someone's arms and spun around.

" I knew she would say yes ! We have a new sister !" Jasper cheered taking me by surprise. He placed me back onto the ground with a wide smile from ear to ear." Alice is going to be so happy. She was desperate to get a vision, but couldn't."

" Wait, you told your family ?"

" Alice had a vision of me trying to find the ring and told the family." Edward corrected.

I smiled at the thought of my dear friend Alice before turning to them both serious." We should keep this between us." I advised noticing the confusion on Edward's face." I don't want Jacob or Bella to be consumed with this news. I don't want anyone's head to be unclear."

" Whose head is unclear ?" Jacob asked causing me to jump a bit not even realizing he was behind me. I turned around feeling Edward's hand on my shoulder and even a little laugh coming.
