Chapter Twenty Seven: Saving Him

Third person pov
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟯𝗿𝗱, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲

" He left you, Emma. He didn't want you anymore, remember ?" Jacob yelled while he followed Emma out of the house with Bella not far away.

When Alice said to Emma that he was going to kill himself, she did not hesitate to pack a small bag and leave to Italy. He might of left her, but he needed to know she was okay. No one deserved to die that way.

" Jake, I can't let him kill himself out of guilt. It's wrong. You and I both know this."

" Em, what about Dad ?" Bella said while Emma opened the door to throw her bag inside.

" Bell, you have to make an accuse. He can't know I left to Italy or any of this."

" Got it." Bella said seeing Emma got in the car. Jacob was not having it and reached over so Alice couldn't drive off.

" Please, Emma. Just... stay here. He broke your heart and I don't want that to happen again."

" I gotta go. If it happens again, then it's on me." Emma said seeing the way he looked at her." Jacob, you would do this for Bella right. Just watch my sister."

" Promise."

" Emma be safe." Bella said and she nodded her head before Alice stepped on the gas and zoomed off.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟰𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲

The two rushed the best they could getting to the airport and zooming through Italy.

" I'm guessing you didn't rent this car ?" Emma said seeing how fast Alice was going having multiple close calls with other cars and even a tracker.

" I figured, you wouldn't be opposed to grand theft auto."

" Alice, it's me. I'm more prone to do grand theft auto." Emma said looking to Alice to see her looking straight a head a bit oddly." What ? What are you seeing ?"

" They refused him."

" Alice, what does that mean ?"

" He's gonna make a scene. Show himself to the humans."

" What ? When ?" Emma asked scared and sitting more up in her seat.

" He's gonna wait until noon, when the sun's at it's highest."

" Alice, you gotta hurry up. We don't have any time. "

" There's Volterra." Alice said showing a village with many houses that blocked the sun from the villagers. Alice blared her horn loudly going through people. Emma made a double take looking behind the car seeing everyone.

" Why the hell are they all in red ?"

" San Marcos Day festival. They're commemorating the expulsion of the vampires from the city. It's the perfect setting. The Volturi will never let him get far enough to reveal himself."

" Shit, Alice we have five minutes."

"I know, Emma ? Breathe."

" I am breathing."

" Emma, your hyperventilating." Alice said and she was right. Emma didn't even noticed. Alice got to the guards that made her stop the car. Emma got out the car before turning back." Em, you're the only one he can't see coming. If I go, he will read my thoughts, he'll think I'm lying and rush into it."

" Where do I go ?"

" He'll be under the clock tower. Go !" Alice said and in a flash Emma took off in a sprint. She passed security and ran like hell going up a flight of stairs and turning left to a lot of people walking. She stopped only once confused where to go, but followed a group of people.

Her legs never stopped. For a minute, she had to question if she had vampire speed by how fast her eyes darted around and she moved. That's when she got to the main parade and saw the clock tower. She pushed people not caring till she got to a water fountain.

The clock rang loudly and Emma stopped shocked seeing him. He looked bad with bags under his eyes, and weak like he hadn't eaten in a while. He was slowly unbuttoning his shirt ready to expose himself to the world. Emma was not going to have that.

" No !" She screamed and jumped into the water fountain running across it which each step going fast and faster. When she got closer, she used any energy she had left running and collided her body with his. She looked at his face seeing he had his eyes closed." You have to move ! Open your eyes, look at me. I'm alive ! Move, asshole ! You have to move, now !"

" Emma ?" He said backing up into the place again. His eyes grew wider and he looked down seeing it really was her with her rosy cheeks and hazel eyes worried as ever." You're here. You're alive !"

" Yes, you idiot." She said pushing him away. He was safe now, she had rights to be upset. He noticed she was upset. Her breath was shaking and she crossed her arms." I'm alive ! I needed you to see me once. You had to know that I was alive. You didn't have to feel guilty or anything. I told you that ! You can let me go now. Go back to your old life."

" Emma-"

" Don't."

" I never let you go." He said grabbing her arm lightly to stop her from opening the door. She stopped and looked to him in defense yet relief.

" What ?"

" I just couldn't live in a world where you don't exist." He said walking closer to her and holding her hands. She had tear in her eyes out of confusion and pain.

" But you said-"

" I lied. I had to lie and you believe me so easily."

" Because it doesn't make sense for you to love me. I'm nothing...but a human. Nothing compared to what you might want. The way you left said everything too."

" You're everything to me. Everything. Emma, I love you." Edward said and all the anger and pain vanished from her body. She got closer to Edward and kissed Edward right on the lips. She forgot how much she missed him. Edward's cold lips on her and the way Edward held her so tight yet soft at once. The doors opened in front of them, so they turned seeing two men.

" I won't be needing your services after all, gentlemen."

" Aro wants to speak with you again."

" No rules were broken."

" Nevertheless, we should take this conversation to a more appropriate venue."

" Fine." Edward said before turning to Emma seeing how worried she was." Emma, why don't you go enjoy the rest of the festival ?"

" The girl comes with us."

" No. You can go to hell." Edward said when the chains behind them broke. They turned seeing Alice come in.

" Come on, guys. It's a festival. We wouldn't want to make a scene."

" We wouldn't."

" Enough !" A girl said coming into the room. She stared down Emma in a wag to scare her, but Emma was way stronger then that and glared back standing next to Edward and Alice.

" Jane."

" Aro send me to see what's taking so long." She said looking to the two men before looking to the three and leaving. Edward grabbed Emma's hand and looked to her straight in the eye.

" Just do as she says." Edward said, but she only shook her head looking into his eyes.

" I never do what people tell me."
