Emma's pov
𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟖𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟓I sat in the passengers side watching Fork's while Bella drove us to school. She said it would help her nerves and I didn't mind knowing how nervous Bella could be at times. I stared out the window at the town of nothing, but pale faces. It would be a miracle to see sunlight I guess here. I wasn't nervous to see more of them at school. Never was before.
I didn't care what the kids thought or if they liked me or not. I was however worried about Bella. I knew she always felt like the odd one out. Never one to make her own friends or find herself in a group. When we reached the school, a loud boom went off from the car's engine.
I laughed a bit before grabbing my book bag and leaving," A boom for good luck." I teased looking over to her.
" Yeah." Bella mumbled grabbing her bag and locking the doors.
" Nice ride." A boy laughed leaning against his car with his friends.
" Thanks." Bella said a bit shyly.
I stopped walking to see his van before turning to the boy." I wouldn't talk if I were you."
With that I turned back around walking with Bella while the boys friends laughed. Yeah, I was never one to really hold my tongue. I went in my bag looking for my schedule since I didn't know where to go or even what classes I would have to take.
" You're Isabella and Emma Swan, the new girls ?" An Asian boy asked smiling right in our faces almost knocking Bella and I over." Hi ! I'm Eric, the eyes and ears of this place. Anything you need Tour guide, lunch date, a shoulder to cry on."
" I'm really kind of a more 'suffer in silence' type." Bella mumbled.
I laughed elbowing her side." Bella. She's kidding. Partly."
" Good headline for your feature. I'm on the paper and you're news baby, front page."
" What? No, we're not. Please don't..." Bella begged already nervous. I gave Eric a look that made him nod and calm Bella down.
" Whoa ! Chillax." He comforted." Relax...No feature. Cool?"
" Thanks."
Before I knew it, I was in gym class, my favorite class if I had to be honest. Unlike Bella, I was very athletic and in my old school did cheer, softball, volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse. I spiked the ball earning my team a point. The game started again and this time, the ball came at Bella. She freaked out hitting someone in the head before I could even run over to save her.
" Oh god, Bella." I mumbled walking over to see if the boy was okay. He cringed about to turn and say something to whoever it was, but saw us.
" I'm sorry." Bella apologized." I told them not to let me play."
" No, no..." He stuttered." That's...You're Isabella and Emily right?"
" Just Bella."
" And it's Emma." I corrected with a slight wave seeing how the boy was looking at me.
" Yeah, hey! I'm Mike Newton."
" Nice to meet you."
" She's got a great spike, huh ?" A preppy girl said coming out of no where. The girls turned to her seeing her smile." I'm Jessica, by the way. Hey, you're from Arizona, right ?"
" Yeah."
" Aren't people from Arizona supposed to be like... really tan?"
" Yeah, maybe that's why they kicked us out." I said making Bella laugh, but the two didn't get it. I looked at them oddly." It's...a...joke."
