Chapter Thirty Four: The Meaning To Imprinting

Much to Jacob's words, Emma enjoyed the ride to La Push. She forgot how beautiful the woods would zoom by or the rush of being on a bike. When they got to Sam's house, Emma hopped off the bike seeing Bella made it there the same time. She got out the car and frowned when she saw her sister.

" Emma ? I thought you went to school with Edward ?"

" Well, he pissed me off. The vampire chick Victoria is after me again. That's why he wanted me to go to Florida to see Mom." Emma said before turning to remember she was on wolf grounded and might smell like a vampire." Jake, are you sure I should be here. I am the vampire girl."

Jacob didn't have much time to answer when four boys came outside. Emma heard the footsteps and turned around to see it was Quill, Embry, Jared, and Paul." Look who's back."

" Whatup, Emma ?"

" Well, look at you Quill. I almost didn't recognize you." She said and it was true. Quill looked like he had gained more muscles since the last time she hung out in Jacob's garage.

" Yep. Finally made the pack." Quill said when a girl showed up out the house. Emma smiled to her, but she just held a deep glare. Jacob heard her and cringed a bit.

" Emma, this is Leah Clearwater. Harry's daughter."

" Hi Leah, I'm really sorry about your father."

" If you're here to torture with Vampire stench, feel free to leave." Leah snapped before walking pass Emma. She turned around now holding a glare.

" I wouldn't talk if I were you." She said, but Leah did not act on it. Emma just rolled her eyes and turned to the pack seeing them biting their lips from laughing out loud.

" Fun, isn't she ?"

" Emma, is that you ?" She heard and looked up to see it was Emily. She smiled seeing the beautiful girl and went in for a hug.

" Hey Emily."

" I was wondering when we'd see your face around here again."

" Sorry it took so long."

" Sam, we're good ?" Jacob asked and Emma looked over to the leader of the pack wanting answers also since Edward seemed to never have any. Sam placed his arm over Emily's shoulders before nodding his head.

" We're good. She won't be getting through our line anytime soon."

" Great, come on girls." Jacob said grabbing the bike again and moving away from the pack. Bella looked up from walking and over to her boyfriend.

" So, when did Leah join the pack ?"

" Around when her Dad died. Her brother Seth, also phased. He's only fifteen. One of the youngest we've had. Sam keeps him home studying, but he's chomping at the bit. Wish it was Leah who'd stay home."

" That is such a classic guy talk. Are all of you too macho for some girl power now ?" Emma laughed knowing it was true. Jacob shook his head disagreeing to what she said.

" No, it's... It's not a chick thing. It's... You know, a triangle thing. We all have to live the Leah, Sam, Emily pain-fest. Wolf telepathy, remember ?"

" Wait, I don't get it. So, Sam dumps Leah for Emily ?"

Jacob shook his head." It wasn't like that. Sam hates himself for hurting Leah, but Emily was The One like Bella is mine."

" Yeah, I guess it's sort of chooses you sometimes."

" It's more than some crush, Bella. Sam imprinted on Emily."

" Do I want to know what that is ?" Bella asked and both Jacob and Emma stopped walking and turned to each other. They had forgotten through everything to tell Bella. Emma nodded her head saying to go for it. When they got to the garage, Jacob placed the bike to stay still before looking over to her.

" Imprinting on someone is like... Like when you see her, everything changes. All of a sudden, it's not gravity holding you to the planet. It's her. Nothing else matters. You would do anything... Be anything for her."

" It sounds like you know the feeling. Have you..." Bella asked and Jacob swallowed a big lump in his throat. Emma leaned against the table seeing Jacob looked to her almost begging for her to help.

" Jacob imprinted on you, Bella." She said seeing her sister snap her head over to her." It was back in the rain when Jacob wouldn't call you and we drove to his house seeing he cut his hair. Remember when he was staring at you ?"

" Wait, so... that's why you love me ? Just cause of some stupid imprinting ? It's not true feelings ?"

" Bella, your taking this the wrong way-"

" Am I ?" Bella asked backing away from him." I thought you actually loved me, not some wolf instinct that makes you think you do. Jake, how could you not tell me this ?"

" Bella, just listen to him-"

" Oh what do you know ?! Your the one leaving everyone after graduation for Edward !" Bella said before stomping out of the garage a bit hurt. Emma looked down before hearing heavy breathing and looking to see it was coming from Jacob.

" Jake ?"

" Graduation ?"

" Bella is wrong on that part. Not right after graduation, but you knew this was gonna happen at some time." Emma said seeing how angry he was getting. It was like someone had flipped a switch and everyone's mood with it." Jake ? i thought you knew this ?"

" Not in a month. I mean, not before you've... you've even lived."

" I think I lived long enough to know what I want." Emma stated feeling defensive. Jacob huffed shaking his head.

" Emma, do you even get what your doing ?!"

" Why are you getting upset for ?!"

" Because your my best friend ! Okay ! I thought maybe we would have time being best friends, but here you are saying our time is cut short ! I was hoping I would have a while !" Jacob said before grabbing a screw driver and throwing it near her which caused her to gasp a bit." For a second, just a second, I thought...But he's got his hooks in you so deep. He's taking you from Charlie, Bella, Renee, me !"

" I decided this, not him and I'm not going to turn right now. Maybe when I'm 19, 20, 21, I don't know."

" Do you understand how much this will crush Bella ?" Jacob whispered and it was like a sharp needle stabbed Emma's heart when he said that. She had thought about her sister and the thought that she wasn't going to age, but she would die.

" Jake, I think about that every day."

" You'll have to stay away from her and it will kill her. Literally kill her, Emma. She loves you so much and you're really going to waste it all for some guy ! It makes me sick. Better you really be dead than one of them."

Emma's head snapped up when he said that. Another sharp needle stabbed her and she gasped from how shocked she was. It was almost like a slap in the face that he would rather her be a dead body that would later be eaten by worms then a vampire, who will live forever and be happy." I can't believe you said that."

" Wait, Emma-"

" Edward was right, I shouldn't have come and believe me I will never come again."

" Emma, come on." Jacob said grabbing her arm. She stopped walking and turned to him seeing the little tears forming at the rim of his eyes." Please. I'm sorry."

" Sorry doesn't cut it. You already said it. You rather have me dead, so let it happen." Emma said yanking her arm away from him and leaving with Bella, who was sitting in the car angry. Emma took one last look to Jacob before getting in the car and driving.
