Chapter 3

After school I ended up walking home alone, Jasper went with Jacob and Verity. Why? I don't know? Before I left  school I made sure to get Asher and Luka's numbers. I entered my house and I was shocked to see not only my Dad but Jameson, Michael, Trevor and Liam home. They were sat in the living room and when I entered the house they all turned to me.

"Did someone die?" I ask curiously

"No, why would you ask that?" Jameson asks crossing his arms.

"I don't know maybe because none of you are ever home. The only reason I can think of for you guys to actually be here is for something important like someone in our family passed away." I explain crossing my arms.

"No one died. We just have some important stuff to discuss." Dad says letting out a sigh.

"When you say 'we', you mean you guys and not me, right?" I question kicking my shoes off.

"No, 'we' as in the entire family." Michael says firmly.

"Why? You guys can't just do this, ignore me and go on about your life forgetting that you had a little sister/daughter. I raised myself for the past 8 years, where were you guys? Hell I don't know, that's how much you were around. I have plans of my own." I yell crossing my arms. The entire room is quite and they all have their head held down in shame. I let out a sigh and turn to go upstairs but not before I hear the words I never thought I'd hear.

"Your mother wants to come home." Dad whispers. I slowly turn to look at him in shock then run up the stairs. I didn't want to believe it, for 12 years of my life she's been absent. Why does she want to come back?

I changed into a purple sweatshirt, black skinny jeans, and white boots. I slip my phone and wallet into my pocket, then walk downstairs. Everyone is still sitting in the living room, they all turn their heads and watch me,but I ignore them. I walk out the house and head towards the park. I slip my hands into my pocket and trudge to the park. I still didn't like the idea of my mother coming back.Why couldn't she just stay away? I see no reason for her to return.

When I arrived at the park I quickly found Jacob and Verity but Jasper was no where to be found.

"Symphony you're here!" Verity says jumping up.

"Did you think I wasn't coming?" I ask laughing, as she wraps me in a hug.

"Kind of." She says pulling away and beging to rock back and forth on her feet.

"Thanks, so where's Jasper?" I ask curiously, moving to sit down on the bench.

"He went to get Zixi, apparently she's been asking him to bring her to the park for a while so he decided to bring her." Jacob explains shrugging.

"Ah," I reply taking a seat next to Verity.

"Jacob can you be a sweetheart and get us some shaved ice? Symphony and I have some things we need to discuss." Verity says sweetly, fluttering her eyelashes. He lets out a sigh,but smiles then gets up and heads over to the shaved ice stand.

"Start talking Symphony, I want to know who those twins were." she says turning to me smiling.

"There's nothing to talk about. I ran into them when I was heading outside to meet  up with you guys. We started talking for a few minutes then they went inside. You and I texted, so I went back inside to my locker to get my wallet, and turns out their lockers are on either side of mine. We ate at the snack bar together and we started talking, and that's about it." I explain letting out a sigh leaning back in my seat.
