I stop the tape in the middle. The man walks in to let me know that the spirit calling was about to begin. And if I asked right, I might see her again. "But everyone is saying her. And how is this real?"
"We remember our little hero. Little things she's done. If you want to see her, stop blinding yourself with doubt and lies." He sounded like Rikkun there for a moment. "Why was she a hero?"
"Why are you still here, hm?"
The question confused me. He sighs. "26 she went out near 18th avenue around Bay. She never walks beyond her territory. 27; went back to practice her part."
"Practice?"
"Her band."

Rikkun, from what I know, she did recently join. She or someone else recorded part of their music. Comments of how good they played and jokes, Rikkun played the drumming part.
That confused me, because when I met her before, she never liked to play the drums. I overheard her tell a friend that she was afraid of the loud sounds it made with the base. The teacher never let her played, they weren't getting anywhere with her. Though they tried to tell her everyone made mistakes. I remember how she lightly taped on the keys of the bells with her fingers. Like a piano. Not once did I see her look at the notes. She never did. She'd always follow the flutes. The sound.
Her band, now, I think she followed rhythm.

She was very talented.

But still, why my street?

"28, attacked."
"What?"
"The members, filthy beings, since she was the only and alone. I suppose they thought it'd be funny to push her around."
"Why didn't she tell me?!"
"Why should she? What can you do? She knew you couldn't go and hold her. You'd just scold her for her stubbornness."
"Don't say it like that.."
"It's true. Perhaps you should've treated her like a daughter than a dog. Noticed when needed."

"No..I had issues at home."
"She did too. She didn't whine about it. Now tell me, Clay. Would you go back to have warn her?"
"..yes.."
"Good. Those scratches behind her ankles, those circles, how would you like if someone stabbed thorns into you?"

I felt sick. Useless again. "Why couldn't she just call the police or anyone.."
"And take all to question? Or to make you sound like a fool?"

Never mind I guess. He turns away, "When you're ready, walk outside. It's not long till it begins."

"Are you gonna see Rikkun too?" I ask.

"No..I want to see my wife."
"I'm sorry," I didn't know he had loss someone. "It's alright, thank you." He puts his mask on. "She was ill when she had the accident. It wasn't her fault."

"Rikkun told me her stomach was hurting on the 27th." I stated before he left the room. "Do you know why?"

He looks back at me. "She coughed up blood at some point at that day. She didn't bother smelling food or wanted to drink anything. She didn't eat when she came. I thought it was your relationship with her. Or something."

"Was she sick?"
"Maybe just with a headache."

Rikkun had told me before.

"When she left, the night before 27th, she message me that she felt scared."
"Why?"
"She wanted to faint. I told her to go back home. So if she did, she'd be safe at least."

He does sound like he cared for her. "She was coughing during the call. Don't know what caused." He turns away and walks out of the room. "If heavens could, I'd wish for you to save her."
"I'd wish the same for myself."

I sat alone for a few minutes until Dusty found me. She meowed. "You helped her, huh?"
She meows. Purring at my arm. "I bet she mothered you." That would be adorable. I wish I could've said something. I wish I could've seen her every weekend.

Could I have warned her with this information?
