Simon just left the condo unit heading for work when Alexander got up from bed, went out of his room and saw her drinking coffee and finishing her breakfast at the dining area. He took a cup from the cupboard and made himself some coffee before he sat beside Amity who never removed her eyes on the newspaper she pretended to be reading.

"Hey there.. Good morning.." Alexander greeted her.

"Morning." Amity answered not lifting a glance to look at him and took a bite of her french toast.

"Simon already left?" Alexander asked.

"Mmm hmm.." She answered nodding her head still not looking at him. She took time in chewing the food in her mouth.

Alexander grabbed a french toast and had a bite himself, "Mmm.. This tastes delicious.." He commented, "Did you made this?" He was really trying hard to have a conversation.

"Mmm hmm.." Amity answered and shifted a page of the newspaper.

Alexander bit his lip and thought of a smart thing to say. It was clear to him that she was dodging everything he says.

"Jordin, are you mad at me?" Alexander looked at her with doleful eyes. It made her stop whatever she was doing and slowly put down the newspaper on the table to look at him.

"Why would I get mad at you?" She asked him sternly.

Alexander looked surprised for a moment but had managed to answer, "I don't know.. Maybe because of what I've told you the night during Nik's birthday party.."

"Why would I get mad because of that?" Amity asked him again not removing her stare at his face.

Alexander swallowed, "Because you like Simon that much. And you were hurt because of what I've told you."

Amity gave him a mocking smile. "I wouldn't lie about my feelings towards your brother. But you don't have to use it against me. I thought we had a deal that we'll start anew, to become friends. I was kind of expecting that, if one of us had some concerns we would be openly honest with each other."

Alexander's forehead creased, he suddenly went confused. "I.. I don't understand what you're saying.."

"C'mon Xander, let's cut the crap. I know you're jealous because I am close with your brother and you don't seem to like it." Amity told him frankly.

"What?" Alexander looked stunned and shook his head, "You're mistaken.."

"Stop denying. Just tell me the truth. So we can fix this up."

"I'm not jealous of you being close to Simon."

"Then why are you doing this? I know you're having a rough time with your brother, and believe it or not I'm trying to help you guys sort things out between the two of you. I'm worried about your relationship that's why I talk to him for you. I know you see that we're close and I think it makes you jealous that instead of you, I am much more closer than him. You should've just told me how you feel about it and not hurt me by whatever it is you said to me that night." Amity gritted her teeth and held back her tears.

"It's not what you think.. I was never jealous.."

"I trusted you, Xander. I gave you a chance. I hoped we'll start out fresh, as new friends. I am even concerned about you, worried about you and your relationship with your brother. I just wanted to help, and this is what you do to me? What? Do you really want me to leave this place so badly? Is that what you want?"

"No. I never thought of all those things." Alexander protested. "That's not what this is all about."

"Then what? Huh?" Amity challenged him.

"I just told you that because I don't want you to get hurt."

"Isn't that what you're trying to do now?" A single tear fell from her cheek. "I don't know why do you keep on doing these things to me. I don't even know what have I done for you to always break me. Don't worry, as soon as I get that scholarship for art school you won't be seeing me here anymore. You can have this place and Simon all to yourself. I just hope it would work out nicely for the both of you." She stood up and walked towards her room. Alexander was left stricken by all the things she just have said.

"She thought I was jealous that she's taking my place as Simon's sibling?" He murmured to himself and shook his head. "This is getting out of hand." He mumbled and looked like he just had a very bad headache.
