Chapter Fifty Two

The two of them decided to just walk their way home. They walk in silence but with smiles on their faces. Often times, Alexander threw sideway stares at Amity, with a wide grin on her face, hugging the unicorn stuff toy he won for her. The look on her face made the corners of his mouth curve slightly upward. He's very much happy inside he doesn't want for this night to be over.

It was still a few blocks away from Simon's condo unit when a thought entered Alexander's head. Him and Jordin had been through a lot, enough for him to atleast know her, what she's like. Enough for him to realize that he trust her and that he's comfortable with her. That he finds her special. And so he made a decision of telling her about the real reason why he had to leave the country a few years ago since he told her before that in time he'll tell her the other reason why he had left. Alexander inhaled deeply before he started to speak.

"Jordin, do you still remember what I've told you when the two of us were eating at Rack's?" Alexander asked her not looking.

Amity looks at him, still with a smile on her face. "About what?"

Alexander smirks. "You've already forgotten about it? I thought you have a sharp memory?" He joked.

Amity punched him in the arm. "We've talked about a lot of stuff did we not?" She laughed. They look at each others eyes for awhile. Amity felt a sudden awkwardness as well as Alexander so they broke off their stare at the same time. Alexander rubs his nape while Amity hugs her stuff toy tighter.

Alexander cleared his throat. "I told you there's another reason why I left the country right?" Amity looks up to him after hearing his words.

"Yes. You did." She answered softly. "You're going to tell it to me now?"

Alexander bit his lip and nodded his head. "Mmm hmm.."

"Okay.. I'm listening.." Amity smiled at him.

Alexander placed his hands inside his pants pockets and stare at the pavement as he started to speak. "The three of us, Simon, Mia, and I, have known each other since we were young. Simon and Mia were the same age. They're a few years older than me. But eventhough I'm the youngest, they treated me as an equal. They would go places or hang out with me tagging along and even converse just about anything while we're together. We've been really close, the three of us. And Mia, she always looks out for me. She's very warm and nice and we became very close. Aside from Simon it's her who knows almost anything about me." Alexander breathed heavily. "Needless to say, I fell in love with her as time goes by. But I've kept my feelings for her hidden because I don't know how to tell her and I'm not even sure if she also feels the same. But then I am so in love with her I didn't care what would happen if she finds out. I was about to confide my feelings but I was the one surprised. We were having dinner that time and they just told me they've been going steady for a couple of months already." Alexander laughed. "If you only saw the look on my face during that time. I was caught off guard and tried very hard not to look obviously hurt and stupid. I pretended I was happy for them although deep inside I feel like dying."

Amity gazed at him, very much surprised with the revelations she's hearing from Alexander. She could feel the sadness in his voice eventhough he has a faint smile on his face as he speaks. She wants to ask him questions but told herself to let him spill everything first before doing so.

"It never occurred to me that there's something going on between the two of them. I feel like I was betrayed. But then I couldn't do anything about it. So I just let them be. Then came a time when I really couldn't take it and I just left. That's the time I went to Japan." Alexander continued. "I never heard from them since then. Not until Uno told me the news that Simon and Mia split up." Alexander sighed. "And I hated Simon because of that. I let him have her because I thought he would take care of her but then he didn't. Mia is fragile and I know how much she loves my brother. I don't understand why they threw away their relationship just like that. Simon was very lucky to have her. But he's still my brother and I still respect him. So I didn't confront him about what happened. Instead, I destroyed myself."
