"Amity."

Her eyes blinked a few times when Quinn waved a hand in front of her face. She looked at him surprisingly. They were walking in her mother's vast garden and stopped in front of the rose bushes. She was marveling at the roses when her thoughts suddenly drifted off; remembering Alexander.

"I-I.. U-Uh.." Amity can only stutter.

Quinn's lips curled into a half smile. "I guess you weren't listening." He joked. But somehow, she felt the slightest hint of hurt in his voice.

"I'm sorry.." Was all she ever could say.

Quinn gave out a sigh. "Lately these past few days you keep on zoning out." He tells her seriously. "I honestly don't know what to think."

"Quinn.." She reached for his hand. Slowly she had been trying to be comfortable in touching him. It was hard at first, knowing that she doesn't feel anything special towards this man though she has to try. She just keep on telling herself that Quinn is a good man. And that they will soon be wed. He is the man that she'll be living the rest of her life with. It was only proper for her to be more affectionate.

Quinn held her hand and squeezed it. "Are you nervous about the engagement party?"

The question struck her but she hid it from him. She had almost forgotten about it. She knew about the engagement party this coming weekend but she doesn't want to think about it. She knew that the announcement her father made about her engagement have reached Alexander's knowing and it made her feel awful. She could imagine the look of his face and more than that, she knew what he would possibly do. He would be drinking. He would be sleepless. He would be hurting. And it's all because of her.

"Amity?"

She turned to Quinn and managed to give him a smile. "No. I am not."

Quinn pulled her closer and wrapped an arm around her. "I was afraid you might want to call off the engagement though.." He told her looking away.

"Now why would I do that?" She elbowed his side and gave out a chuckle. Quinn looked at her and pinched the tip of her nose.

"I want you, Amity. Ever since it has always been you, here.." He took her hand and placed it onto his chest just above his heart. Quinn looked at her eyes deeply, their faces so close he could kiss her if he wanted to. Deep inside Amity prayed that he wouldn't.

Quinn looked at her like he was expecting some kind of response making her heart start to beat furiously. What could she possibly say to that? Relief washed over her when all of a sudden she felt drops of rain fell on her cheeks.

"Quinn, it's raining.."

Quinn took sight of the gazebo and pulled her towards it. Both of them ran as the rain poured heavily and the two of them were slightly soaked when they had reached it. She immediately took out her handkerchief and dried her face and her arms. She turned to see Quinn wriggling his hands, his hair damp and had fallen over his eyes. He removed it with his hand.

"Here.." She took the initiative to wipe his face with her handkerchief. Quinn looked at her and suddenly took hold of her hand making her stop. She swallowed hard as she met his gaze. It was full of longing.

"Amity.." He whispered, his voice husky. "I love you.." He slowly leaned onto her and her pulse started racing. He is going to kiss her. And she's praying for something, anything, that can happen so he won't be able to.

As if the heavens had heard her, a loud thunder startled them both. Amity took the chance to pull away from his hold and pretended to be scared, even let out a shriek. She was thankful though, at the back of her mind.

It was starting to get cold and she wrapped herself with her arms. Quinn took notice of it and hugged her from behind, his chin resting on top of her head. Again, Amity felt slightly uneasy but pretended not to mind.

"I guess we're going to be stuck here for quite sometime.." He told her.

"We could run you know? Back to the mansion. That would be fun." She suggested. A smile playing in her lips as she said it.

Quinn hugged her tight. "No, you might get sick." He answered her. "Let's just wait for the rain to stop. Besides, I like holding you like this.."

Her smile slowly faded as she heard his response. If he was Alexander he would love to play and goof around under the rain. She would love the same.

As she watched the rain fall she remembered her dream. Then, all of a sudden, she saw Alexander in front of her like he just materialized out of nowhere. She smiled. He was standing there, looking smug wearing his usual grin. He held out a hand to her and gestured for her to come towards him. She thought that she must be hallucinating, but still, for her it was a beautiful sight. He was a beautiful sight.

"What are you waiting for? Come on." Alexander told her. Those were the words he had told her in her dream.

Amity smiled at him. Unknowingly she took off Quinn's arms around her and stepped outside the gazebo.

"Amity!"

She heard Quinn call her but she started to run. She ran towards Alexander who also ran away from her, like they were playing tag. She chased him and she laughed as she called his name; the sound of Quinn's voice that was calling her slowly fading.

Alexander stopped and turned to look at her when they were far from the gazebo. They were only a few steps away from each other.

"Xander.." She softly spoke. "I.. I missed you.." Tears welled up in her eyes making her vision blurry. Alexander smiled at her, his eyes looking at her with so much longing. H e was about to say something but slowly, the image of him disappeared. Amity began to sob.

Her chest felt like it was crushed and stomped. She misses him so much and it hurts. The thought of not being able to see him again hurts. She wants to tell him a lot of things she regretted not saying. And realizing that she won't be able to tell him those made her feel more miserable.

She closed her eyes and tilted her head towards the sky allowing the rain to fall on her face. The rain; it's one of the things that would remind her of Alexander because he had made her appreciate it when she had always hated it. Tears sprung from her eyes.

"Xander.." She whispered. "Will I ever see you again.."
