Chapter Fifty Three

Both of them are soaking wet when they reached the front door of the condo unit and they were laughing and panting all at the same time.

"Look at what happened to my unicorn stuff toy!" Amity told him and slap him on his arm pretending to look mad.

Alexander just smiled at her. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Amity slowly let out a grin and they locked stares again. "Uhh, the door please?" He asked her leaning a bit closer.

"Oh. Yeah. Right." Amity fumbled for the keys in her pockets and opened the door. As soon as they went inside she saw the faces of Simon and Mia. They're standing in the living room.

"Jesus Christ, Jordin! What happened to you?" Simon asked her instantly. She was about to open her mouth and respond but Simon cut her off. "Wait, I'll get you a towel." Simon walked right past Mia and into her room and was out in a flash carrying one clean towel. He quickly strode towards her and dry her up. Amity blushed a little because of the gesture. She let him do it for Mia to see. She almost smiled triumphantly when she saw Mia trying hard not to scowl.

"Jordin, what on earth are you doing? You'll get sick because of this." Simon tells her as he dries her hair and her arms. She could feel his breath and the warmth of his skin as it brush with hers from time to time.

"Don't worry about me, Simon. I'll be fine. I'm healthy as a horse you know?" She giggled.

Simon looks at her with stern. "Stop fooling around, Jordin. Why are you even out this late at night under this heavy rain?" Amity was about to answer but Alexander butted in.

"It was my fault. We went to a theme park and while we're on our way home it started to rain. I was the one who had the idea of running under it just to get home because it was already late." Alexander muttered with his head down low.

"You did what?" Simon shot his brother an angry look. "Aren't you even thinking? What if Jordin gets sick? Or maybe even you because of this?" Alexander didn't respond.

Amity touched Simon's arm. "Hey, it's fine. Don't get mad at him. I agreed doing it too.." She tells him softly.

Simon looks at her and his face softened up a bit. "Fine." He spoke. "But don't do this again okay? Promise me. I don't want you to get sick." Amity smiled at him and nodded. She saw Mia scoff then threw dagger stares at her but she just smirked as if saying "Now tell me, am I not that important to Simon as what you have said so?" Amity almost wanted to say it out loud to her rival. She turned her attention back to Simon.

"I promise." She smiled sweetly at him. "Hey, I better go wash myself up."

"Yes, you should." Simon tells her. "Now go ahead."

Before Amity could go to the bathroom she looked at Alexander and threw her towel at him. "Dry yourself up. Don't worry I'll be out in a jiffy so you can have your turn." She told him smilingly then went straight to the bathroom.

Amity took off her wet clothes and soaked herself under the shower. Good thing the water is lukewarm because awhile ago she's feeling cold. There are clean and fresh towels in the bathroom for unexpected guests that's why she gave Alexander hers awhile ago. She took one towel to dry and wrap herself up, brushed her teeth afterwards then went out. She saw Alexander waiting outside when she came out.

"Your turn." She smiled at him. She scanned the place and realized Simon and Mia were gone. "Where's Simon?" She asked.

"He drove Mia home." Alexander answered. "He told me we shouldn't wait for him. I guess he'll stay the night at Mia's place."

Amity felt her heart like it was pinched. "I see.." Was all she could say. She smiled at Alexander and went to her room.

Amity changed into her PJ's and sat on her bed thinking and weighing things as she combs her hair. There's no way she could win Simon's attention and he will always choose Mia over her. She might be important to him as well but, Mia will always be his first priority. No matter how concerned he is to her, she's no longer the only one he cares about. It's really a hopeless case now for Amity.

How long can I bear all if this.. She asked herself.

She heard knocking on her door followed by Alexander's voice. "I made ramen. For the two of us." He tells her from outside her room.

"Okay I'll go out." She answered back. She went out of her room and into the dining area where Alexander is waiting for her, already seated on a chair. "I'm glad you made something to eat." She smiled at him. Amity pulled out a chair, sat in front of Alexander and started to eat. "Hmmm.. Yummy.." She mumbled in between bites.

"Hey Jordin, Simon was right awhile ago." Alexander suddenly speaks up seriously which made Amity look at him in a snap. She tilted her head as he looks at him, baffled. Alexander didn't even look at him. "I should've never drag you under the rain. It was so childish. What if you'll get sick again? I'll blame myself."

"Stop saying such nonsense." Amity tells him. "I really did enjoy it you know? You're the only person who made me realize how fun it is to be under the rain and that it ain't bad. I'll never forget that." She smiled at him. Alexander finally loosened up and let out a wide grin.

"Me neither." He tells her.

They finished their food and washed the dishes. Alexander saw her yawn and announced that they should go get some sleep. He walked her to her room first before going inside his.

"Goodnight, Xander. Thanks for everything. I had a good night." Amity softly spoke.

"I'm glad you did. It's the least that I can do." Alexander grinned at her. "Goodnight, Jordin." He was about to turn his back from Amity but she held his arm. It made him stop and look back. Amity gave him a quick peck on the cheek and it startled him. Before Amity could close the door he thought he even saw her blush a little. Alexander touched his cheek, grinning. He shook his head before going to his room.

Amity couldn't believe what she had done. She was standing with her back resting on her bedroom door. She just gave Alexander a kiss on the cheek and she wasn't even planning on it. It was like she'd done it automatically. Why did I do that?! I'm so embarrassed with myself! She told herself. Never in her life did she try to do a thing like that to Simon even if they're close. And she realized she wasn't even thinking when he kissed Alexander's cheek. She just felt that it was something she has to do.

"Ugh!" She covers her face with both her hands like she was totally ashamed of herself. But inside of it, she's smiling.
