Silence filled the air as they rode towards Bonito's, one of the fancy restaurant's in the Metro and an hour drive from the condo unit. Simon is the one driving as Jason Walker's Echo played on the car's stereo. Amity is seated at the back wearing a cyan tube dress with an above the knee cut along with black peep toe wedges. She had put on a mix of silver and blue eye shadow in her eyes and mascara, for her lips she decided to make it simple and only used a nude color. She decided to just let loose her long wavy hair, her necklace the only accessory that completed her outfit. Amity held her necklace as she kept her stare outside the car window, she's trying to keep her calm even though she felt her heart drum wildly. She's not sure if she can held her composure in tonight's rendezvous. Amity hoped she will.
Alexander sat on the front seat and also had his glare outside the car window, staring at the lights coming from the different establishments as they passed them. Just like her, he had kept his silence ever since they've left the condo unit. Amity finds it a little strange that somehow he looked like he doesn't want to go even if he agreed to come when Simon asked them both but she just shrugged the thought. Alexander could be weird sometimes, she told herself. But what really concerned her is Simon's quietness. Yesterday he was in a jolly mood but right now he looks impassive, and it made her wonder. What could he be thinking right now? She looked at him worriedly as the silent mood in the car continued. She doesn't feel like talking and she observed that the two guys doesn't want to as well. Amity just went back in staring at the sights outside.
Few minutes later Simon's car took a turn and she saw the restaurant. There were only a few cars in it's parking lot and from the outside Amity could tell that it is a high end place. As soon as Simon parked his car, the three of them got off and walked towards the entrance.
For a moment she became dazed as they entered inside. She was right, Bonito's is definitely a sophisticated place. She allowed herself to gaze the inside of the restaurant admiring everything from it's chandeliers, candelabras, dashing waiters in suits and it's red moreen curtains. In a corner there's a piano and a beautiful instrumental is being played by a male pianist. Amity looked at the elite people eating on some of the round tables and suddenly she felt a little uneasy. Even if she had grown up in a wealthy family she's not comfortable with this kind of social life.
Simon scanned the place and saw Mia already sitting on a table a few paces away from them. He gestured for her and Alexander to follow and they did so. Mia glanced up at them as they arrived and she stood up. She greeted them and gave each a peck on the cheek. Amity felt Mia flinched a little when she kissed her, she just didn't mind it.
The four of them sat on the chairs with Simon sitting beside Mia, and her and Alexander sitting beside each other. She sat opposite to Simon facing him and Mia faced Alexander.
"Did you wait that long?" Simon asked Mia who looked astonishing in her fancy red dress with a sequined bodice.
"No, I arrived five minutes ahead of you guys. It's okay." She answered Simon with a radiant smile and they locked eyes for awhile. "Well, shall we order? I'm famished!" She laughed and raised a hand to call a waiter and asked for a menu, they were given one each and they started looking as the waiter stood by the side of their table and wait for their order.
"Hmm.. What do you suggest we should have?" Simon asked Mia with a smirk as he flipped the pages of the menu book. Amity glanced at the both of them from time to time making sure she's not that obvious. Alexander on the other hand, still kept quiet, his attention focused on the menu.
"Well, they sell very delicious lamb chops here. What do you think?" Mia answered Simon smilingly.
Simon bit his lip and answered. "Okay then, lamb chops it is." He smiled and turned to Amity and Alexander. "How about you guys?"
