"Hey, that smells good.."

Amity turns her head and saw Alexander leaning on the kitchen counter watching her, wearing that familiar grin she had gotten used to eversince. She smiled back.

"What you makin'?" He asked walking towards her. He was now standing beside her. "You're hair.." He muttered and tucked some of the loose strands of her hair at the back of her ear. Amity couldn't understand but that gesture made her jiggle inside. A few months living with him, being with him, made the two of them very close. Alexander had always been caring and protective towards her. He had become more honest and open and she sees the sincerity everytime he tells her something. She never thought it would be possible that they would be friends but it happened. They had a bad start but what came after was something beautiful.

"Thanks." She tells him smiling a little.

Alexander shrugged. "I just don't want any of your hair in my food is all.."

"Ha ha." Amity rolls her eyes. She knew he was joking.

"You know it was a joke right?" He tells her and then chuckled.

"Whatever." She answered. "Go fix the table. I'm almost done."

Alexander followed her order and started placing plates on the dinner table. "Simon called awhile ago, says he'd be home for dinner." He tells her as he continue what he's doing.

"Oh really? Surprising.." Amity smirked while she stirs. "Lucky for him I made some good food tonight." Deep inside she's happy with what she heard but somehow she's also slowly getting used to his absence. Like she doesn't mind if he'll not be around or if he doesn't hover.

"But you know what? He sounded weird when he called. He sounded stiff. I dunno. Maybe I was just being paranoid." Alexander spoke behind her. Amity's eyebrows furrowed.

"Maybe he's just tired." She answered. She was done cooking and placed the finished chicken curry in a dish and took it towards the table. She came back on the stove top and did the same for the tuna casserole. "There." Amity let out a breath, her hands in her hips. "That should do it."

"God I feel so hungry." Alexander mumbled as he looks at the food on the table. He was about to dip his finger on the chicken curry but Amity slapped his hand. "Ow!" He squirms. Amity just stuck out her tongue and giggled. Both of them looked at the door when they heard someone turn the knob.

"Maybe it's him." Amity took off her apron and went towards the door. She beamed at Simon but her smile slowly fades as she took notice that he has a stern expression on his face. "Hey, Simon.. What's wrong.." Simon didn't respond, didn't even look at her face. He just stands at the doorway staring sternly on the floor. Amity was about to walk towards him but stopped. There was a man standing behind him. Amity swallowed hard and felt her heart stop. She suddenly froze. She noticed the man wearing a black long coat behind Simon's back. No.. This isn't possible.. This can't be happening.. Her thoughts tell her frantically.

"Little miss." The man bowed his head briefly towards her.

"Vladimir.." Amity whispered and covered her mouth with her hands. She heard Simon scoff and she looks at him with wide eyes. She was clearly horrified. "Simon.." She reaches out her hand to him but he slapped it away. Tears welled up Amity's eyes. She knew what was happening.

"Is this the girl you've been looking for mister?" Simon asked the man with gritted teeth, suppressing the anger he's feeling.

"Yes, sir." The man Amity called Vladimir answered. "I've been ordered by your father to find you, young miss. Now I must take you back home." The man tells her.
